East Haven’s Soccer Teams Complete Seasons; Cross Country Races at States
Boys’ Soccer
The Yellowjackets’ boys’ soccer squad wrapped up the 2017 fall season by taking a 5-1 loss home loss against Law last week. Richard Santana scored the lone goal of the game for East Haven, which finished the year with a record of 1-15.
Girls’ Soccer
The Easties lost a tight one to Branford by a 1-0 score in their final game of the year. The Yellowjackets went 1-13-2 for the season.
Boys’ Cross Country
East Haven sent four racers to the Class MM State Championship at Wickham Park in Manchester on Oct. 28.
Ian Reynolds led the group with a time of 23:26, Jeff Maffeo finished at 23:33, Zach Vallas posted a time of 24:20, and Giro Esposito crossed the finish line in 24:39.
Girls’ Cross Country
The Yellowjackets saw three competitors run at last week’s Class MM State Championship.
Nicole Pendziwater posted the best time for the Easties with a mark of 25:31. Caitlin Brockett finished at 26:24, while Andreina Magana posted a time of 30:06.
Football
East Haven took a 51-0 at Wilbur Cross on Oct. 26 to drop to 1-6 on the season.
The Yellowjackets will next host Creed-Career-Whitney for a SCC Tier 3 matchup on at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. Just like East Haven, Creed-Career-Whitney is 1-6 overall and 0-3 in Tier 3 games.
