DAR/CAR Members Provide Tasty Holiday for Veterans
Each year around the holidays, many chapter members bake homemade cookies for the domicile veterans living at the State Rocky Hill Veterans Hospital. This year, as part of their service project, the children baked dozens of cookies, as well.
The East Haddam-based Nathan Hale Memorial Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in conjunction with its sponsored Children of the American Revolution, the Old Saybrook-based Sgt David Thompson Society, recently held a holiday cookie service project at the home of Mary Russell in Old Lyme, followed by a holiday luncheon.
