U-14 Girls’ Soccer Wins Districts to Cap Unbeaten Season
The North Haven U-14 girls’ soccer team recently completed a fantastic season by going undefeated and winning the South Central District championship.
The team’s ferocious defense only gave up seven goals all season and was led by goalkeepers Mary Sarah Olson and Emily Carachia. The rest of the defense consisted of Julie Migliorini, Camile Sahirui, Laura Martins, Kyla Stanley, Mehak Sharma, Grace Gilloly, Allison Marino, and Jena Mahmoud. Additionally, North Haven’s prolific offense generated 48 goals, led by Stanley, Sahirui, Julie Raposo, Julie Mappa, Colleen Doyle, Migliorini, Kailey Marottolo, Katrina Brocoli, Zoe Bowerman, Alexis Caruso, Isabelle Chagnon, Gabriella Moulis, Jahnavi Narain, Marissa Rappa, and Gianna Rella.
Coach Marc Stanley said that North Haven played well together and excelled on the field throughout the entire season. He added that his team was a well-disciplined group that played its heart out every game and also stormed back from a few deficits to win some games, including the in the District championship contest.
“The girls were a special team this season and Coach Mike and I will miss them all,” said Coach Stanley. “I want to personally thank every player for their devotion this season. They should all be very proud of themselves on their accomplishments this season. I would like to thank all the parents for their devotion on the season. Congratulations girls! You deserve it!”
