Michael William Ackerman, age 69, of Deep River passed away peacefully on Nov. 28 at Middlesex Hospital after battling a long illness. Mike was born in Middletown on Nov. 18, 1947, the son of William J. and Theresa (Sarazin) Ackerman.

He was raised in Centerbrook and later moved to Deep River, where he lived for the past 40 years. He was employed for 20 years at Turbo Products and many years at Kellogg Marine until his retirement.

Mike is survived by his wife Susan (Ziobron) Ackerman of Deep River; his brothers Jim of Clinton, and Tim and his wife Maryann of East Haven; many nieces and nephews; and his special canine friend Chloe.

A special thank-you to Ed Zaremba and Buddy Daniels for helping him as he struggled in his later years, and just for being good friends.

Burial will be privately held by his family in the Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s name to the Deep River Ambulance Association, P.O.
