Branford’s Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and the shelter’s animal control services, a model for the state, drew state legislators and leaders to its doors on April 19 to discuss the strong correlation between animal cruelty, child abuse and other forms of interpersonal violence – referred to as “The Link.” April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month.
