East Haven Hagaman Memorial Library Closing Indefinitely Due to the Coronavirus Outbreak

(EAST HAVEN, CT)- Under the advisement of the East Shore District Health Department, the Hagaman Memorial Library will be closed starting March 13, 2020 for an indefinite period of time due to the coronavirus outbreak. The library as a public building could be a potential source of spreading the coronavirus and the closing of the library is a precautionary measure to prevent against the spread of the coronavirus.

While closed, there will not be any kind of public use of the library building which includes checking out materials, attending programs and events, and the scheduling of the community rooms for use. We ask that patrons please hold on to borrowed materials until the library reopens to the public. Patrons that have library materials checked out will receive fine forgiveness for the period of time that the library is closed.

Library staff will not answer telephones while the library is closed. If there are questions or concerns, please contact Bruce George, Library Director, at 203-468-3893, or email him at bgeorge@hagamanlibrary.org.

The library's Website, will be open for use. East Haven residents, with their Hagaman Memorial Library cards can check out materials from Overdrive and from Hoopla. In addition, the many databases provided by the Connecticut State Library (researchIT CT) can be used with a library card.

Communication as to when the library will reopen will be found on the Library's Website, www.hagamanlibrary.org, at the library's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/hagamanlibrary; and from future news releases submitted to the local media.
