01/08/2020 11:00 PMThe Dance Corner, of Killingworth, CT, presented its eleventh annual performance of the Winter Follies: A Celebration of the Seasons Through Song and Dance on Friday, December20th at the Andrews Memorial Town Hall Auditorium in Clinton, CT.
The Dance Corner joined forces with Corner Music of Old Saybrook, The Shoreline Singers and the Madison Police Department to present an evening of festive entertainment in while collecting toy donations to benefit Madison Youth and family services, Yale New Haven Hospital and Toys for Tots. “This was an extremely successful event. We collected over 350 toys and over $400 in cash donations at the performance,” said Carrie Smith, Director of The Dance Corner. The dancers and musicians performed to a full house and the holiday spirit was felt by all.
Smith says the Winter Follies gives her students to chance to do what they love, dance and perform on stage, while giving back to the community. She particularly enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with other local performing arts schools. She and her students look forward to the 2021 Winter Follies and the annual Dancing From the Heart show in October 2020 to benefit Child Life at Yale New Haven Hospital.
The Dance Corner welcomes students of any age or level to take a free trial dance class. The studio is currently accepting new students into their 2019-2020 Fall-Spring session as well as new class sessions for Adults this winter.
