Shoreline Sharks Host Try Hockey for Free Event on Nov. 9th

Girls learn the basics of hockey at a Shoreline Sharks Try Hockey for Free event.

The Shoreline Sharks, in partnership with USA Hockey, announce a Try Hockey for Free event on November 9 from 3:45 – 4:45 pm at the Patsy Dilungo Ice Rink in East Haven. Coaches and travel team players lead drills and games designed to introduce beginners to hockey in a safe and fun environment.

"It's a great time for girl's hockey. With Team USA's Olympic win in the 2018 Olympics and the growth of the professional women's league with the NWHL, hockey has become one of the fastest-growing sports for girls," commented Ed Rodham, President, Shoreline Sharks Youth Hockey Association. "Our mission is to grow the game through our development programming. Participating in a Try Hockey for Free event is an easy and fun way for girls to try the sport without a commitment."

Participants will receive a youth-sized USA Hockey Jersey (while supplies last) and complimentary pizza afterward. The event is open to girls ages 3 – 19 who have basic skating skills.
