FREE CANCER SURVIVOR PROGRAM

The Valley Shore YMCA is proud to offer Hope Is Power to help cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals! The program is for adult survivors beginning with diagnosis through any point post treatment. The program includes a FREE family membership to the Valley Shore YMCA during the 12-week program. Participants in the program will:

● Regain strength, endurance, and flexibility

● Gain emotional support from other survivors

● Learn lifelong healthy eating habits

● Learn relaxation techniques

Our next program session begins September 10, 2019 and we are accepting registrations now. Participants do not need to be YMCA members - so please share this with anyone you think might be interested.

Classes are held on Tuesday & Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:30 PM

Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, Hope is Power is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.
