Chapel on the green

On Sunday, January 27, members of Guilford’s two Episcopal parishes, Christ Church and St. John’s, hosted Chapel-on-the-Green behind New Haven’s Trinity Church. Parishioners had made sandwiches, baked brownies and cooked gallons of soup from scratch. The worship service and lunch serves folks who live on the margins of New Haven’s plenty. While serving Sunday’s hot meal, backpacks, over 100 pairs of gloves, and other cold weather items were distributed – all of them having been collected by the two parishes.
