Bishop Lane residents, with the support of local businesses and friends, broke out the lawn tractors, golf clubs and set new records for attendance and giving at their 3rd annual neighborhood gathering and golf tournament; raising $4,000 for the firefighters at Madison Hose Company No.1. In its three years, the Bishop Lane golf events have contributed over $8,500 to local charities.

Chief Robert Kyttle, and a number of the 35 active members from Madison Hose Co. No.1 were on hand and amazed with the generosity and turnout. Tournament organizers were invited to the Hose Company for an official check presentation to Chief Kyttle and many volunteer firefighters and received a tour of the facility. "The officers and members of Madison Hose Company appreciate the generous donation raised by the Bishop Lane Golf Tournament. This donation will help our fire department continue excellent service to the great people of the Town of Madison. Thank you to all who participated and helped sponsor this great event. “ Remarked Chief Kyttle.

The tournament once again attracted over 80 golfers and had the support of more than 20 local business sponsors. Organized by the informal Bishop Lane Whiskey & Social League, play is held throughout various yards with foam practice golf balls, one golf club restrictions and the encouragement to use lawn tractors as golf carts. The event was open to friends and families of all ages and golf skills with the goal to have fun, gather with neighbors, and give back to the community. A $35 per person entry fee was augmented by many additional donations from others in the Madison community.

Each hole was hosted by a Bishop Lane family with the support of a local business sponsor, with signature beverages provided at each tee box. An outdoor banquet with live music from the Rich Badowski Blues Band rocked the post tournament party, which included prizes for the closest to the pin, high and low score and best dressed. Most local businesses also provided very generous prizes for a raffle.
