On Tuesday March 25, several members of the North Haven Garden Club attended a workshop given by the Daytime Gardners of North Haven on making Living Pictures with Succulents. Attending were Sandy Ginter, Cindy Golia, Brenda Howlett, Jan Tracy, Carmen Sealy and Ellie Tessmer. Walter Brockett, a member of the North Haven Garden Club and Daytime Gardeners, made the beautiful frames out of Redwood, stained them, put a sturdy plastic baking on, and 1/4 inch mesh screen was added to hold the soil, Spanish moss, and plants in place. A hand out was also given with instructions (tips) on care of the succulents. The framed art work can either be hung on a wall or sit on a table. Each participant was able to choose from a variety of succulents, mosses and sea shells before starting their projects. The mesh screen had to be cut with wire cutters to make room for the succulents to be place in the frame. A fun time was had by all who attended.
