Westbrook High Sophomore, Olivia Hartzell, presents at the 5th Annual Girls Symposium

Westbrook High School Teen Leadership Students presented Leadership Workshops at the

5th Annual Girls Leadership Summit at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT on November 3, 2017 which was sponsored by the Fund for Women & Girls, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. One hundred middle school girls from across the Connecticut shoreline participated in leadership and advocacy development. Leadership students from Westbrook High School: Madison Liberatore, Olivia Hartzell, Alex Young, Olivia Archer, Lexi Koplas and Kayla Arevalo presented five workshops pertaining to “Finding Your Voice” through “upstander “techniques and “How Self Concept can be developed to enhance one’s Self-Confidence”.

These six student presenters are part of the Westbrook District’s School Climate endeavor which works with students as resources for social emotional learning development in schools. Westbrook High was the only school asked to provide the training workshops which ended with all one hundred participants leaving with personal development goals.
