Old Saybrook High School Student Honored with Sage Colleges’ Student Sage Award


Tetiana Winiarskyj (Old Saybrook High School, '16) is the winner of the 2015 Sage Colleges' Student Sage Award.

Tetiana Winiarskyj, a rising senior at Old Saybrook High School, has been named The Sage Colleges' distinguished Sage Scholar for 2015.

Nominated by their high school guidance counselors in recognition of their academic achievements and community involvement, award recipients exemplify The Sage Colleges' motto, "To Be, To Know, To Do."

Winners are guaranteed a scholarship toward tuition at Russell Sage College or The Sage College of Albany.

Tetiana has also been selected to participate in the Yale Daily News Summer Journalism Program, an intensive one-week session geared toward high school students with journalism experience. The program features workshops on the fundamentals of journalism, lectures by guest speakers from major publications, and mentorship from Yale undergraduates in pitching, reporting, writing, photographing, and producing an issue of the Yale Daily News.

The program takes place Aug. 17-21.
