Girls’ Track Produces Standouts, Baseball Grabs Three Wins


Girls’ Outdoor Track

The Morgan girls’ outdoor track team attended the Bellringer Invitational on April 6. Senior AJ Luke placed fourth in the 300 hurdles, and sophomore Addy Reed placed first in the 3200 and fifth in the 1600.

Baseball

The Morgan baseball team dropped its first two games of the season to North Branford and Haddam-Killingworth. On April 6, Morgan beat Valley Regional 5-3.

The game featured Lucas Hoadley pitching six innings and striking out six batters, and Jack Henry Palazzo pitching one scoreless inning and striking out one batter. Trevor Powell got the offense going with a three-RBI day at the plate.

On April 8, Morgan went on the road to East Hampton and won 8-2. Ryan Donadio got the win on the hill, going 4.1 innings and recording five strikeouts. Powell went two innings, striking out three, and Jack Henry Palazzo went 2/3 innings and struck out one. Offense for the game was led by Sean Green, Benji Brown, and Creighton Johnson, each picking up two RBIs.

On April 10, the Huskies hosted Cromwell and won 3-1. Palazzo got the start on the mound and went six innings while striking out seven hitters. Powell came in for the save in the seventh inning. Ross Truebig and Nathan Levy each recorded an RBI, and Wyatt Luke scored two of Morgan’s three runs on the day.
