Valley Baseball Cruising Through States; Girls’ Tennis Falls in First Round

Baseball

Valley baseball opened up Class S State Tournament play on May 30 as the No. 8 seed. In the first round, they defeated No. 25 Wamogo by a commanding 15-0 score. In the second round the next day, the Warriors faced No. 24 Coginchaug and won 13-0. On June 3 in the quarterfinals, Valley upset No. 1 St. Paul by a score of 4-3.

Softball

Valley softball’s season came to a close in the first round of the Class M State Tournament on May 30. As the No. 31 seed, the Warriors faced No. 2 O’Brien and lost 12-11.

Boys’ Tennis

Valley boys’ tennis lost in the qualifying round in the Class S State Tournament on May 26. As the No. 22 seed, they faced No. 11 Rocky Hill and lost 7-0.

Girls’ Tennis

Valley girls’ tennis played in the first round of the Class M State Tournament on May 26 as the No. 8 seed. They fell to No. 9 Daniel Hand by a score of 6-1. The doubles pairing of Regan Grow/Alessia Pisanzio recorded two 6-2 wins in the contest.
