Morgan Boys’ Golf Places Sixth at Shoreline Meet, While Boys’ Lacrosse Takes First-Round States Loss


Baseball

Morgan baseball entered the Class M State Tournament as the No. 29 seed. On May 30, they took a first-round loss to No. 4 Rocky Hill by a score of 8-1.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Morgan boys’ lacrosse entered state tournament action as the No. 13 seed. In the qualifying round for Class S on May 26, the Huskies defeated No. 20 Tolland by a score of 7-6. In the first round on May 31, Morgan took on 4th-seeded Northwest Catholic and fell 14-2.

Boys’ Tennis

Morgan boys’ tennis began Class S State Tournament play as the No. 2 seed, falling 4-3 to 15th-seeded East Catholic in the first round on May 27.

Outdoor Track

The Morgan boys’ outdoor track team competed in the Class M State Tournament on May 30 and the girls participated in the Class S State Tournament. Robby Estabrook claimed second place in the javelin (157-04) and earned Second Team All-State honors. Ashley Inglis took sixth in the high jump (4-08.00). The girls’ 4x800 relay team of Natalie Estabrook, Addy Reed, Kate Gardner and Glenda Zhiminaicela (10:45.87) claimed eighth place.

Boys’ Golf

Morgan boys’ golf played in the Shoreline Conference Championship on May 23 in New Britain, taking sixth place as a team. Junior Jack Nye fired a 79 on the course and Captain Ray Swan posted an 87. Junior Patrick O’Neil shot a 90 and sophomore Robert Bergman rounded out the day with a 94.

Girls’ Tennis

The Huskies girls’ tennis team entered the Class S State Tournament as the No. 11 seed, facing 6th-seeded Shepaug Valley in the first round on May 26. Morgan lost by a score of 6-1.
