Baseball opened tournament action on May 22. The team traveled to face Haddam-Killingworth in the quarterfinal round of the Shoreline Conference tournament, falling in a 5-0 defeat. The Huskies ended the season with a 9-12 record.
Softball
Although Morgan’s softball season came to a close, senior infielder Kacey Edwards was named Second Team All-Shoreline for her efforts, as was senior outfielder Sofie Passante. Eva O’Sullivan was an honorable mention.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Boys’ lacrosse picked up a loss last week on the road at Haddam-Killingworth in the semifinal round of the Shoreline Conference tournament. They fell 6-5 on May 22 to bring their season record to 11-6.
Outdoor Track
The Morgan boys’ and girls’ outdoor track teams competed at the Shoreline Conference Championship on May 24. The girls finished in seventh as a team with a score of 25.5 and the boys took 12th with a score of 14.5.
Robby Estabrook was named First Team All-Shoreline and took first place in the javelin (161-03). Destiny Rehberg claimed third place in the girls’ javelin (95-00) and was an honorable mention All Shoreline athlete.
The girls’ 4x100 relay team, comprised of Logan Pernal, Glenda Zhiminaicela, Anastasia Luke and Caeley Ayer placed fourth with a time of 52.23. Julia White took fifth place in the 400 (1:02.42) and Michael Fusco took sixth in the boys’ 400 (53.42). Anastasia Luke took sixth in the long jump (14-05.50), and Ashley Inglis was sixth in the high jump (4-08.00).
