Branford Black Earns First Win in OT Thriller

Week Four of the Branford Parks and Recreation’s Adult Spring Hoops League produced some strong performances. Branford White handed Branford Red its first loss in a thrilling 73-71 overtime victory. Adam Pahlsson’s layup in overtime was the deciding basket for the Branford White team. Michael Lopes led the way with 43 points, which included eight three-point field goals, and teammate JD Shaw netted 10. Patrick Olson led the way for Branford Red, netting 33 points in the loss.

Branford Black prevailed 59-58 over Branford Blue in another overtime contest. Ryan Wells scored three of his 13 points in overtime, while teammate Lyman Depriest had a season-high 20 points to lift Branford Black to its first win of the season. Josh Mahon sank four three-point field goals and 20 total points to pace Branford Blue.

Current team leaders for each squad are Justin White for Branford Red (108 points), Michael Lopes for Branford White (117 points), David McDonald for Branford Blue (45 points) and Cameron Garfield for Branford Black (46 points).
