Morgan Baseball, Boys’ Lacrosse Each Claim Two Victories
Baseball
The Morgan baseball team played three games as part of last week’s action. The Huskies picked up two wins and a loss on the slate and, with these results, Morgan’s record moved to 4-6 on the season.
On April 26, the Huskies hosted Hale-Ray and took a 12-10 loss against the Noises. Garret Garbinski hit a home run in the loss.
Two days later, Morgan hosted Coginchaug and claimed a narrow 8-7 extra-inning victory over the Blue Devils. Garbinski earned the win on the mound for the Huskies. Ryan Inglis supplied three hits, while Bailey Goss knocked in three runs. Ethan Reemsnyder laced a triple in the victory, as well.
With the scored tied 7-7 after seven, the game required an extra inning to complete. Garbinski crossed the plate with the game-winning run.
On April 30, Morgan claimed a huge 21-0 road victory over Westbrook. Goss had a nice outing on the mound striking out seven batters and threw three innings. Ethan Ranaudo also pitched a bit and struck out a pair.
Softball
The Huskies had a slate of three games last week, and they came away with a win and two losses. With these results, Morgan’s record moved to 4-6 on the season.
On April 26, the Huskies dropped a 15-8 road contest against Hale-Ray. Two days later, Morgan headed to Durham and took a 12-0 defeat against Coginchaug.
On April 30, the Huskies got a 1-0 home win due to a Westbrook forfeit.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Morgan played three games last week and took home two wins and one loss. With these results, the Huskies’ record moved to 3-4 on the year.
On April 27, the Huskies headed to North Branford where they took a 10-6 road loss against the Thunderbirds.
Two days later, Morgan hosted Old Saybrook and claimed a 16-7 win over the Rams.
On May 1, the Huskies earned a 17-2 home victory against Norwich Tech-Windham Tech.
Boys’ Golf
The Morgan golf team only managed one match last week after some postponements due to the weather. The Huskies won that match and improved their record to 2-2 on the year.
On April 26, Morgan had a road match against Hale-Ray and claimed a 193-242 win over the Noises.
Jason Cohen had the top marks for Morgan with a tally of 41, while Nick Schmidt shot a 47 on the day. Tyler Greenhouse turned in a score of 49, and Drew Nye marked down 56 strokes in the victory. Cole Crowley finished the match with a score of 68.
Boys’ Tennis
The Huskies played a pair of matches last week and took a split. With these results, Morgan’s record moved to 2-5 on the year.
On April 26, Morgan claimed a 4-3 home victory against Cromwell.
Two days later, the Huskies lost a 7-0 home match against and undefeated Westbrook squad.
Girls’ Tennis
Morgan had three matches on the schedule last week and won one match and lost the other two. With these results, the Huskies’ record moved to 5-4 on the season.
On April 26, Morgan headed to Cromwell and claimed a 7-0 victory over the Panthers. Two days later, the Huskies headed to Westbrook and lost a 7-0 road match.
On April 30, Morgan hosted Portland and dropped a close 4-3 match.
