H-K Boys’ Hoops Loses in Shoreline Quarters; Girls’ Hoops Withdraws from Tournament

The Haddam-Killingworth boys’ basketball team took a loss versus Cromwell in the quarterfinals of the Shoreline Conference Tournament last week. The Cougars finished their campaign with an overall record of 7-7.
On March 23, No. 7 seed H-K played at 2nd-seeded Cromwell in the Shoreline quarterfinals and lost to the Panthers by a 55-46 score. Sophomore Mason Gorham scored 17 points for the Cougars in the loss. Fellow sophomore Tate Callender had 15 points for H-K.
Girls’ Basketball
The H-K girls’ basketball team was scheduled to face Cromwell in the Shoreline Conference Tournament quarterfinals on March 22, but the game was canceled after the Cougars withdrew from the tournament due to potential exposure to COVID-19. H-K, which had a bye through the first round, was the No. 6 seed in the tournament and would have played at No. 3 seed Cromwell in the quarterfinal round. After the Cougars withdrew from the tournament, the game was called off and Cromwell advanced into the semifinals. H-K finished with an overall record of 4-8 on the year.
