H-K Girls’ Volleyball Moves to 8-0; Girls’ Soccer Takes First Loss
Girls’ Volleyball
The Haddam-Killingworth girls’ volleyball team raised its record to 8-0 on the season after posting a pair of recent road victories. The Cougars earned wins versus Old Lyme and Valley Regional in last week’s matches.
On Oct. 27, H-K claimed a 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19) win over Old Lyme. Juniors Jessica Timothy and Audrey Snyder combined for 24 of the team’s 39 total kills in the victory. Senior Meghan Doxsee had 27 assists for H-K.
Two days later, H-K was pushed to the limit when it faced Valley Regional, but still came away with a 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 27-25, 20-25, 15-11) victory against the Warriors. Timothy recorded 24 kills for the Cougars in the match. Senior Addison Duquette and sophomore Lola Chagnon had 11 digs apiece. Doxsee handed out 36 assists in the five-set nail-biter.
Girls’ Soccer
The H-K girls’ soccer squad took its first loss of the year last week and is now 5-1 on the season.
On Oct. 26, the Cougars played an away game against Old Lyme and lost by a 2-1 score. Freshman Rory Parri scored H-K’s goal in the game. Junior goalie Sophia Torello made seven saves in net.
