T-Birds’ Girls’ Hoops Loses in First Round of States
The North Branford girls’ basketball team saw its season come to a close when the Thunderbirds took a loss to Bassick in the first round of the Class M State Tournament last week. On March 2, No. 21 seed North Branford hit the road to play No. 12 Bassick in the first round of states and dropped a 66-46 decision against the Lions. The T-Birds finished with an overall record of 10-13 on the year.
Bassick started the game on a 10-0 run and held a 40-20 halftime advantage over North Branford. Sophomore Braeden LeBeau scored 21 points and had nine rebounds for the T-Birds. Senior Julia Ricardo had seven points with six rebounds in the game.
