H-K Girls’ Hoops Beats Old Saybrook; Hockey Squad Takes Two
Girls’ Basketball
The Haddam-Killingworth girls’ basketball team earned its fourth win of the year when the Cougars routed Old Saybrook last week. The Cougars took two defeats later on the week to move to 4-8 on the season.
H-K hosted Old Saybrook on Jan. 20 and defeated the Rams by a 55-20 final. Then on Jan. 24, the Cougars lost to North Branford by a 54-52 score in another home game. The day after that, H-K took a 63-47 road loss to Stonington.
Boys’ Ice Hockey
The Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug (LH/H-K/C) boys’ ice hockey squad posted victories in both of its games last week and is now 5-4-1 on the season. The Trojans have won their last four games in a row.
On Jan. 22, LH/H-K/C claimed a 2-1 home win versus the Milford co-op at Northford Ice Pavilion. Three days later, the Trojans skated to a 4-1 victory against E.O. Smith/Tolland in another home game.
Boys’ Swimming and Diving
The Haddam-Killingworth/Morgan/Valley Regional boys’ swimming and diving team hosted the Foran-Law co-op for a meet on Jan. 22. The Cougars notched a 94-74 victory to improve their record to 4-0 on the year.
Gymnastics
The Haddam-Killingworth/Morgan/Hale-Ray gymnastics team competed against three teams in a meet at Polson Middle School on Jan. 23. The Cougars posted a score of 48.3 and took losses to Hand (126.5), Mercy (125.4), and Valley Regional (115.8) at the meet.
