On Sept. 14, the Guilford Lakes Golf Course held a fundraising tournament that generated more than $5,000. The tournament not only raised funds, it also allowed golfers the opportunity to come out and show support for the course.

The tournament featured a shotgun scramble, nine-hole, best-ball format. There were 64 participants on a day that featured great weather. The team of Chris Hodgson, Pete Barrett, Ted Tighe, and Ty Kraus finished in first place for the tournament.

The Closest to the Pin contest was won by Christopher LaVorgna. There was also a 50/50 putting contest that was won by Steven Berry, who donated the winnings back to the course. Many local business donated gifts for raffle prizes that generated more than $1,000 in funds.
