Bill’s Seafood Restaurant of Westbrook has announced the recipients of the Bill’s Seafood Scholar Athlete Scholarship Awards for 2019. The recipients of this year’s awards are Avery Bauman from Westbrook, Amanda Beck of Old Saybrook, Luis Antonio Castro from Old Saybrook, Ella Franzoni of Clinton, Dylan LaPlace of Chester, David McCain from Westbrook, Michael Menacho from Clinton, Alexandra Ruel of Ivoryton, and Lauren Salbinski of Essex.
The proceeds from Bill’s Seafood Golf Tournament are annually awarded to student-athlete graduates from local high schools. The recipients are male and female students who have demonstrated positive character, leadership, and citizenship qualities throughout their high-school careers. The recipients have also participated in their respective school’s sports programs and plan to further their education at a four-year college, junior college, business, or vocational school. The recipients collectively received a total of $20,000 from the tournament proceeds. Individuals and business sponsors, in part, support the tournament.
