Post 79 Juniors Improve to 4-2; Senior Squad Gets First Win
Junior American Legion Baseball
The Madison Junior American Legion baseball team is now 4-2 overall and fourth in Zone 2 after picking up a victory last week.
Post 79 first lost an 11-4 final to Hamden on June 16. Madison then defeated Cheshire 7-2 on June 19. Michael Torre (4 innings, 83 pitches) and Jeff Pinover (3 innings, 54 pitches) pitched. Madison then lost a 6-3 contest to Cheshire on June 21.
Senior American Legion Baseball
Post 79 is now 1-6 on the summer after its first victory of the season.
Madison took a 4-1 loss to Hamden on June 16. Jake Crawford (5 innings, 89 pitches) and Jared Kuryan (2 frames, 43 pitches) pitched. Post 79 then lost by an 8-2 final to Cheshire on June 19, as Dan Cote (5 innings, 100 pitches) and Messier Machugh (1 frame, 30 pitches) took to the mound.
Post 79 then split a doubleheader on June 22. Madison won 4-1 before a 3-0 loss. Liam Wallace went the distance in the victory.
