Hand’s Senior Athletes Ready to Compete in College
Several senior athletes at Daniel Hand High School recently announced where they plan to play sports in college starting this fall.
The Tigers who will continue their careers at the next level include Kevin Hughes, who will play lacrosse at Connecticut College; along with Owen McShane (soccer at Bates College), Cam Fitzgerald (baseball at American International College), Nate Palumbo (lacrosse at Connecticut College), Will Reiner (baseball at Villanova University), James DeGrasse (baseball at UMass-Boston), Kyle Schaefer (baseball at Roger Williams University), and Paul O’Conner (swimming at Iona College).
Other Hand students who will compete at the next level are Emma Valdez, who is going to play lacrosse at Skidmore College; as well as Carolyn Quoka (fencing at Wagner University), Kylie Gargiulo (field hockey at Southern Connecticut State University), Dory Howard (lacrosse at Lafayette College), Emma Sullivan (lacrosse at Stonehill College), Taylor Scully (lacrosse at UConn), Gabby Harmon (track at Holy Cross College), Ashleigh Violette (soccer at Dickinson College), Sophie Schreck (field hockey at Stonehill College), Mike Burchell (wrestling at Appalachian State University), Spencer Oliver (baseball at Tulane University), Riley Kokoruda (lacrosse at Boston University), and McKenzie Larson (field hockey at Babson College).
