Madison Duo Takes 2nd Place at Head of the Charles Regatta
Madison residents Peter Falk and Jonathan Swift began sculling together 20 years ago. On Oct. 21, the duo won second place at the Head of the Charles Regatta, which is the largest two-day rowing regatta in the world, featuring 11,000 athletes from 30-plus countries rowing in more than 1,900 boats in 61 events. Falk and Swift competed in the Men’s Senior Masters double-sculls that had 57 total entries. An estimated 400,000 spectators watched the racing over the winding three-mile head style course, on which crews were sent off at 15-second intervals in time-trial style.
Falk and Swift have been rowing together for 20 years on the Master’s rowing circuit. Swift (73) is a well-known psychotherapist in Madison, while Falk (67) is and a private art dealer and publisher of art reference books. They are both Madison residents of 30-plus years and raised their families in town.
