Ruel Selected to Play in 2017 Brine National Lacrosse Classic
Ivoryton resident Allie Ruel was recently selected as one of only four sophomores in the New England region to play in the 2017 Brine National Lacrosse Classic, which is a national tournament. Ruel is a sophomore at Valley Regional High School who plays for the Warriors’ girls’ lacrosse squad, and she’s also a longtime member of the Nor’easter Lacrosse Club out of New Haven.
Ruel is also a member of the United States Lacrosse national player pool, representing the New England region, just like she was last year as a freshman. This year, Ruel played on the top regional team in the top bracket for all the states in the country when she competed in the United States Lacrosse National Tournament at Yale University on Memorial Day Weekend. Ruel has already committed to play Division I college lacrosse at Central Connecticut State University. She has also been selected to attend the Under Armour Regional tryouts at Yale later this month with hopes of being selected to again represent the New England region in the All-America Tournament in Maryland. On top of all this, Ruel was picked to play in the Super Sophomore Game at Wesleyan University in July.
Ruel is a high honors student at Valley Regional who is involved with many different community volunteer groups. She hopes to gain admittance to the high honors program at Central Connecticut.
