Astra Studio Dance Teams Named Grand Champs at Platinum Performing Arts
On April 23, Astra Studio’s Senior and Junior dance teams were named the grand champions in a competition at Platinum Performing Arts. The Seniors achieved this recognition for their lyrical routine, Tears of an Angel. The Juniors were named grand champions for their jazz routine, Dear Future Husband, earned a special judges’ award called Polished & Pristine, and also received a platinum dancer invitation. The Senior jazz team received a platinum dancer invitation for its performance of That Man.
Senior soloist Ashley Roberts and Junior soloist Jillian Pernal earned first-place high-score awards. Roberts, Pernal, and Amanda Pernal all received platinum dancer invites for their solo routines.
The Senior lyrical routine scored a platinum award and its jazz routine scored a high gold, while the tap and hip-hop numbers scored gold. The Junior jazz routine scored a platinum, with its lyrical and tap routines claiming high gold. Soloists Roberts and Jillian Pernal earned platinum awards. Soloists Juliette Linares, Amanda Pernal, and Emma Golembeski all earned high golds. Maya Casagrande scored a gold for her solo routine. A contemporary duo performed by Linares and Jillian Pernal earned a high gold award
Other competitors for the Junior and Senior teams included Ava Schmidt, Cloe Bugden, Tess Santarsiero, Giovanna Silva, Calra Matute, Renee Perregaux, Victoria Le, Sophie Bugden, Mylena Cruz, and Mackenzie True.
