The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. Possessions opened its doors in Branford 31 years ago, and has been providing the latest fashion and accessories ever since.
"In that time, we've seen trends come and go, but our commitment to serving you and being a part of the community, and your life, is as strong today as it was in 1987," says Elaine Parisi, store owner.
What Parisi describes is no small feat. Thirty years ago, it was outside of the norm for a woman to start her own business. Her entrepreneurial spirit was fostered by her parents as she watched them run a restaurant, and that experience gave her the independence to start a business.
"I really would not have Possessions without the support of my parents," says Parisi.
Since then, Parisi has helped to create and maintain an array of shopping initiatives, events, and other town efforts to give shoppers a great experience while increasing business to the Branford Green.
"We've had our ups and downs, but we're still here," says Parisi of her store. "I am so grateful to all my employees throughout the years. We're passionate about what we do, scouring the world for luxury fashion finds and providing you with the unparalleled service you deserve. We are thrilled to be celebrating 31 years of style with you."
With a passion for fashion and a history in the fashion market, Parisi brings only the most updated and wearable trends to the shoreline area. Her store is as chic as the fashion it offers. Clean lines throughout the store provide browsing room as customers peruse the everlasting classic lines of clothing and accessories that have been carefully selected. Parisi's timeless style and sophistication is a breath of fresh air that can be felt upon stepping inside this women's boutique. Beyond clothing, Possessions carries the full line of Kiehl's skin and hair care, as well as the perfect accessories to complement any outfit.
For her customers who have been with her for decades or even for a day, Elaine has a message.
"Thank you for your business and support throughout the years," she says. "We look forward to serving you and being your go-the-style destination for decades to come."
