Clinton

Wednesday, Sept. 21

• A 33-year-old Branford man was arrested at 7 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A burglary was investigated on old Nod Road at Airline Road at 6:23 a.m.

• A theft from a vehicle was investigated at Clinton Crossing Outlets, 20 Killingworth Turnpike, at 10:47 a.m.

• A theft was investigated at 9 Waterside lane at 12:05 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 100 block of East Main Street at 1L04 p.m.

• A theft via shoplifting was investigated at Clinton Crossing Outlets, 20 Killingworth Turnpike, at 2:57 p.m. A second shoplifting incident was investigated at 3:10 p.m.

• A theft from a vehicle was investigated at 23 Killingworth Turnpike at 4:15 p.m.

• A theft via shoplifting was investigated at Clinton Crossing Outlets, 20 Killingworth Turnpike, at 4:45 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash with injuries was investigated at Airline Road at River Road at 4:40 p.m.

• A dispute/disturbance was investigated on the 100 block of West Main Street at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 22

No arrests were made.

• A theft was investigated at 76 Carter Hill Road at 12:23 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 179 East Main Street at 4:55 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 23

No arrests were made.

• A theft was investigated at 12 Woodland Drive at 7:39 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 25 Wildwood Park Road at 6:04 p.m.

Saturday, Sept 24

• A 34-year-old man of Knollwood Drive was arrested at 6:40 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A dispute/disturbance was investigated on West Main Street at 6:26 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 25

No arrests were made.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 17 Kings Grant Road at 8:44 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 26

No arrests were made.

• A theft was investigated at 85 Commerce Street at 12:47 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on North High Street at 8:56 p.m.

• An untimely death was investigated at 68 Grove Street at 10:56 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 170 East Main Street at 12:49 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 80 River Street at 1:06 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Kenilworth Drive at 11:59 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Beach Park Road at 1:16 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Old Mill Road at 1:19 p.m.

• A dispute/disturbance was investigated on Riverside Drive at 1:58 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash with injuries was investigated in front of 68 West Main Street at 3:24 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Riverside Drive at 4:29 p.m.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, Sept. 21

• A 59-year-old man of an Old Mill Road apartment in Clinton was arrested at 8:42 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 61-year-old Preston man was issued a citation at 3:41 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway following a motor vehicle investigation at the Interstate 95 ramp 68 at Boston Post Road.

Thursday, Sept. 22

No arrests were made.

Friday, Sept. 23

• A 65-year-old Madison man was arrested at 8:48 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following an investigation at 1111 Boston Post Road.

• A 46-year-old man of Chalker Beach Road was issued a citation at 3:39 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Old Post Road at Boston Post Road.

• A 58-year-old Essex woman was issued a citation at 5:43 p.m. for creating a public disturbance at 40 Elm Street.

Saturday, Sept 24

No arrests were made.

• A 79-year-old Madison man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:06 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop in front of 1061 Boston Post Road.

• A 79-year-old Guilford woman was issued a citation at 11:38 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

• A 22-year-old man of West King Street was issued a citation at 3:25 p.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection at 9:15 Boston Post Road.

Sunday, Sept. 25

No arrests were made.

• At 10:12 p.m. the Old Saybrook Police Department received a 911 call reporting a vehicle had driven into the water behind Saybrook Point Inn resort and Marina, located at 2 Bridge Street. Old Saybrook police were on the scene within three minutes of the dispatch and found that bystanders had already jumped into the water, pulled the victim out of the submerged vehicle, and were providing CPR. The Guilford Fire Department dive team was called to the scene and tasked to confirm that there were no other victims in the submerged vehicle or surrounding water. It was determined that the driver was the only occupant of the pick-up truck. Despite the efforts of bystanders and first responders, the operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at Middlesex Medical Center Shoreline Clinic. The victim was identified as Steven Mark Wahle, 76, of Old Saybrook.

Monday, Sept. 26

No arrests were made.

• A 77-year-old man of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, was issued in misdemeanor summons at 11:49 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 29-year-old New Britain man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:47 p.m. for traveling unreasonably fast and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at River Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

No arrests were made.
