Police Incident Report for March 4 to 10


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, March 4

No arrests were made.

• Property damage was reported at 1352 Little Meadow Road at 1:51 a.m. a mailbox was knocked down.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 100 Deer Lane at 12:06 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 1919 Boston Post Road at 4:39 p.m.

• A complaint about the sale of tobacco to minors was investigated at CVS, 1057 Boston Post Road, at 5:34 p.m.

• An intrusion alarm was investigated at Town Hall, 31 Park Street, at 11:41 p.m. The alarm was triggered accidently by the presence of the first selectman who was in the office working late.

Friday, March 5

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 30 Deerfield Drive at 12:37 p.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 41 Ruggles Road at 1:03 p.m.

• A complaint about theft by identity fraud was investigated at 78 Barker Hill Drive at 3:37 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 4:11 p.m. Police redacted the location over privacy concerns.

Saturday, March 6

No arrests were made.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 5:03 p.m. Police redacted the location over privacy concerns.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 80 Wauwinet Trail was 5:123 p.m.

Sunday, March 7

No arrests were made.

• A possible theft of mail was investigated at 11 Coachlamp Lane at 4:19 p.m.

Monday, March 8

• A 31 year-old man of Granite Road was arrested at 7:15 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held cell phone.

• A dead deer in the road was reported in front of 3198 Durham Road at 3:18 a.m. DOT was notified.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 377 State Street at 10:20 a.m. Someone hacked the complainant's account at Webster Bank.

• A complaint about a scam phone call regarding an Amazon account was investigated at 13 Long Hill Farms at 12:20 p.m.

Tuesday, March 9

No arrests were made.

• A report of a suspicious person was investigated at 1509 Little Meadow Road at 12:16 p.m. A male wearing a blue jacket and a baseball cap and carrying a chainsaw walked into the backyard of the listed address. The man turned out to be a relative of the owner.

• A complaint about a vehicle that was driven by a standing school bus with flashing lights in front of 598 Durham Road was investigated at 12:28 p.m. The location of the investigation was traced to 7 Hampton Court.

Wednesday, March 10

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud (via a financial crime) was investigated at 220 Bluff View Drive at 10:51 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 600 block of Durham Road at 2:59 p.m.
