Police Incident Report for March 3 to 9


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Branford

Wednesday, March 3

• A 33 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:39 a.m. and charged with sexual assault in the second degree.

• A 33 year-old man of Austin Ryer Lane was arrested at 8:45 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

• A 22 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 9:15 p.m. and charged with cruelty to animals.

• A 22 year-old man of Forest Street was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:34 p.m. for reckless driving and illegal operating of an emergency vehicle.

Thursday, March 4

• A 32 year-old man of a Mill Plain Road apartment was arrested at 6:35 p.m. and charged with cruelty to animals.

Friday, March 5

No arrests were made.

Saturday, March 6

• A 65 year-old woman of a Montowese Street apartment was arrested at 10:50 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless endangerment in the first degree.

Sunday, March 7

No arrests were made.

• A 20 year-old man of School Ground Road was issued a citation at 9:48 p.m. for failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Monday, March 8

• A 60 year-old man of Brushy Plains Road was arrested at 2 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 34 year-old Danbury man was issued a citation at 11:23 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.

Tuesday, March 9

No arrests were made.

• A 51 year-old North Branford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:15 a.m. for reckless driving, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of marker plates, unsafe passing on the left side, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.

• A 29 year-old East Haven man was issued a citation at 10:06 a.m. for traveling unreasonably fast.

• A 19 year-old woman of Taylor Place was issued a citation at 2:54 p.m. for traveling unreasonably fast.

North Branford

Wednesday, March 3

No arrests were made.

Thursday, March 4

No arrests were made.

• A 20 year-old New Haven man was issued a citation at 9:13 pm. for improper parking. He was operating an orange 2009 Dodge Challenger.

Friday, March 5

No arrests were made.

Saturday, March 6

No arrests were made.

• A 63 year-old Milford woman was issued a written warning at 1:49 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Sunday, March 7

No arrests were made.

• A 59 year-old woman of Hudson Falls, New York was issued written warning at 11:48 p.m. for traveling unreasonably fast.

Monday, March 8

• A 37 year-old woman of West Pond Road was arrested at 4:30 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, identity theft in the third degree, and receipt of goods or services obtained illegally. The theft occurred at the New Haven Super Walmart on Foxon Road. Occupation: operating engineer.

Tuesday, March 9

No arrests were made.

• A 46 year-old New Haven man was issued a citation at 12:30 a.m. for traveling unreasonably fast and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license. He was operating a white 2013 Nissan Altima.

From March 3 to 9 North Branford police issued $760 in fines to motorists.
