Police Incident Report for Feb. 24 to March 4


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Branford

Wednesday, Feb. 24

• A 49 year-old man of Stonegate Circle was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the first degree and violation of a protective order.

• A 46 year-old man of Main Street was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:22 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

• A 33 year-old woman of Hampton Park was issued a citation at 4:47 p.m. for failure to grant right of way to an oncoming vehicle while making a left turn.

Thursday, Feb. 25

No arrests were made.

• A 25 year-old East Haven was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:38 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 72 year-old New Haven woman was issued a citation at 10:24 p.m. for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Friday, Feb. 26

• A 38 year-old Ansonia woman was arrested at 3:43 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 44 year-old East man was arrested at 10:55 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Saturday, Feb. 27

• A 33 year-old Waterbury woman was arrested at 11 a.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree, fraudulent use of an automatic teller machine, identity theft in the first degree, and 16 counts of charging under $500 on a revoked payment card.

• A 42 year-old woman of unrecorded address was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with two counts of violation of probation.

• A 42 year-old homeless woman was arrested at 8:50 p.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, larceny in the second degree, and larceny in the third degree.

Sunday, Feb. 28

• A 28 year-old woman of a Cedar Street apartment was arrested at 4:30 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 32 year-old woman of a Briarwood Lane apartment was arrested at 5:11 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (this was the second time she was arrested for this offense), evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 58 year-old Guilford woman was issued a citation at 10:09 a.m. for failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Monday, March 1

• A 27 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 1:01 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 25 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 7 a.m. on the strength of a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the first degree and failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 58 year-old man of Woodside Drive was arrested at 12:22 p.m. and charged with violation of conditions of release in the second degree.

Tuesday, March 2

No arrests were made.

North Branford

Wednesday, Feb. 24

• A 45 year-old man of Indian Hill Road in Northford was arrested at 1:41 p.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order.

• a 19 year-old woman of Deepwood Road in Northford was issued written warning at 10:47 a.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart.

Thursday, Feb. 25 - Friday, Feb. 26

No arrests were made.

Saturday, Feb. 27

No arrests were made.

• A 27 year-old man of Branford Road was issued a citation at 4:37 p.m. for improper passing. He was operating a gray 2013 Honda Civic.

Sunday, Feb. 28

No arrests were made.

Monday, March 1

No arrests were made.

• A 26 year-old East Haven man was issued a citation at 8:19 p.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. He was operating a blue 2020 Subaru.

Tuesday, March 2

No arrests were made.

From Feb. 24 to March 2 North Branford police issued $609 in fines to motorists.
