• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 10 Lantern Hill Road at 7:21 a.m. The vehicle was recovered by New Haven police at 202 Maple Street. The owner was contacted and permission was given for Texaco to tow the vehicle.
• A motor vehicle crash was investigated in front of 3654 Durham Road at 9:05 a.m.
• A suicide attempt was investigated at 7:59 p.m. The location was redacted by police for privacy concerns.

• A motor vehicle crash was investigated at 916 Boston Post Road at 9:44 a.m. One vehicle was backed into another.

• A larceny was investigated on Long Hill Road at Wilburs Lane at 3:03 a.m. A street sign was stolen.

• Breach of peace was investigated on Woodworth Road at 11:58 p.m.
Monday, March 23
• A 25 year-old man of Woodworth Road was arrested at 12:30 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed on a $1,500 bond.
• A 40 year-old Groton man was arrested at 12:30 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
• A 30 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 5:10 a.m. and charged with reckless driving, risk of injury to a minor, and reckless endangerment in the second degree. She was processed on a $2,500 bond.
• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 62 Half Mile Road at 1:08 a.m. Males were observed inside a vehicle that was parked in the driveway. It was believed that a key to one of the vehicles in the driveway was taken.
• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 1588 Little Meadow Road at 1:17 a.m. A wallet was taken from the vehicle.
• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 168 White Birch Drive at 7:37 a.m. A vehicle was entered but nothing was taken.
• A complaint about Internet fraud was investigated at 30 Ann Road at 10:58 a.m. The complainant was scammed out of money.
• A theft of toilet paper from an unlocked motor vehicle was investigated at 234 Flag Marsh Road at 12:39 a.m.
• The report of a man in an orange raincoat taking photos of a dead animal in a box on the roadside was investigated in front of 86 State Street at 4:08 p.m.
• A complaint about three unlocked vehicles that were entered and rifled through was reported at 155 Winthrop Road at 6:42 p.m. Nothing was missing excerpt possibly $1. The complainant did not wish an officer to respond to the scene.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 520 Granite Road at 7:42 a.m.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 75 Jefferson Drive at 11:25 a.m.

• A report of an injured deer in the roadway was investigated on Durham Road at Great Hill Road at 8:47 p.m. The deer was dead when police arrived at the scene. The carcass was moved out of the roadway across the street from 4425 Durham Road. Dispatch contacted the Department of Transportation for removal of the carcass.
Saturday, March 28
• A 31 year-old man of Laurelbrook Drive was arrested at 4:20 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. He was processed on an $1,000 bond.
• A domestic dispute was investigated at 4:16 a.m. The location was redacted by police for privacy concerns.
• An employee of the town stump dump locked a customer into the dump, 10 Sullivan Drive, at 3:58 p.m. Police arrived to unlock the gate.

• A burglary was investigated at 923 Maple Hill Road at 8:25 a.m.
• A civil investigation was conducted at 540 West Street at 11:20 a.m. A neighbor cut down a tree and took wood.
Wednesday, April 1
• A 38 year-old homeless man was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with burglary in the second degree, criminal trespass in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, and criminal attempt to commit assault on a person age 60 or older or who is pregnant of handicapped. She was issued a $75,000 surety bond.
• A 23 year-old man of Brooklyn, New York was arrested at 9:38 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, criminal attempt to commit larceny in the sixth degree, forgery in the first degree, criminal attempt to commit forgery in the first degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and two counts of conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.
• A larceny was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 2:41 p.m.
Thursday, April 2

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 11:06 a.m. The location was redacted by police for privacy concerns.
• Suspicious activity was investigated at 616 Nortontown Road at 12:42 p.m. The complainant reported that a female Terminix employee was walking around the yard. The homeowner had not ordered service. When the person left in a vehicle, she ran over a flower bed before heading toward Podunk Road. Police traced the vehicle via the license plate and determined that the Terminix employee had made mistake and was supposed to inspect residence #618 not #616.
• Harassment was investigated at 2:03 p.m. The address was redacted by police for privacy concerns.
• A complaint about an animal was investigated at 135 Lake Drive at 8:18 p.m. The caller was bitten by a raccoon.
Friday, April 3

• The theft of a motor was investigated at 776 Hoop Pole Road at 6:58 a.m. Three other vehicles on the property were entered.
• A dumping violation was investigated on Bullard Drive at 11:31 a.m. Personal trash was dumped in trans cans that belong to the Park & Recreation Department.
• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 132 Meadow Ridge Lane at 12:51 p.m. Vehicles were entered but nothing was taken.
• A breach of peace incident was investigated on the 800 block of Boston Post Road at 1:31 p.m.
• Domestic disputes were investigated at 4:06 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The locations were redacted by police for privacy concerns.

• Harassment was investigated on Shore Drive at 11:59 p.m.

• Criminal trespass was investigated at 1164 Boston Post Road at 12:09 p.m. A caller reported that a man was setting up a camp site in the rear of Mulberry Plaza.
• A report of a large carcass in the yard was investigated at 203 Norton Town Road at 12:18 p.m. The caller was not sure if the body was human or not. Police reported that the back bone and ribs appeared to be that of a deer. Some chunks of deer hair were in close proximity.
• A report of a dog bite was investigated at 301 Route 80 at 12:19 p.m. The complainant was jogging on the Timberland Trials of Cockaponset State Forest just north of the northern most lake of Guilford Lakes when he came upon a woman walking her dog. He warned the woman she he was approaching but when he got closer, he realized the dog was not on a leash. The dog bolted toward him and the woman lost her footing in an effort to hold the dog back. The dog attacked the complainant, ripped his shorts, and caused a red bruising but did not break the skin. The dog was described as a red, long-hair retriever. The woman was in her 40s and wearing a baseball cap and a grey sweatshirt. The complainant did not get a better description because he kept running after the woman regained her footing. No information was exchanged between the complainant and the woman so police were not able to peruse the investigation further. The officer searched the area and was unable to locate anyone matching the description. The police report was forwarded to the Guilford animal control officer hoping she might be familiar with the dog.
• A larceny was investigated at 1164 Boston Post Road at 3:18 p.m. Two cartons of cigarettes were stolen. The store had video of the incident.
Monday, April 6
No arrests were made.
• A noise complaint was investigated on the 1100 block of Long Hill Road at 5:50 a.m. Police spoke with the driver of a John’s Refuse garage truck about repeated complaints in the area regarding excessive noise early in the morning. The driver advised police that past calls to the main number of the business have never been relayed down to him. He told police that he would avoid the area until after 7 a.m. and that he would pass the message long to other drivers if necessary.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Oxbow Lane at 3:12 p.m. A neighbor yelled at the complainant about an ongoing issue with the neighbor’s dog trying to attack the complainant’s dog.
Tuesday, April 7
• A 22 year-old man of Hart Landing was arrested at 2:48 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree under the domestic violence act.
Wednesday, April 8
No arrests were made.
• A report of a dog bite was investigated at 1280 Durham Road at 11:54 a.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 25 Brookside Drive at 1:51 p.m. Someone cut the wire to solar Christmas lights on a tree, and a wire to a radio on the porch, sometime in the last week. The complainant did not believe the cuts were caused by animals.
• A larceny was investigated at 2945 Boston Post Road at 3:07 p.m.
• A complaint about an aggressive skunk was reported at 171 Three Mile Course at 4:38 pm. The animal left before police arrived.
Thursday, April 9

• A disabled motor vehicle was reported on Goose Lane and Interstate 95 exit 59. AAA was requested for a dead battery. Guilford Texaco responded to jumpstart the vehicle.
• Threatening was investigated on the 900 block of Maple Hill Road at 7:32 p.m.
Friday, April 10
No arrests were made.
• Threatening was investigated at 620 Boston Post Road at 7:39 a.m.
• A report of sudden death/bodies found was investigated at 11:18 a.m. The location was redacted by police for privacy concerns.
Saturday, April 11

• Suspicious activity was investigated on Neck Road (via the Town Marina) at 6:19 p.m. A caller reported that a few teenagers were climbing inside the red house on Grass Island across from the Guilford Town Marina. The caller was concerned about possible vandalism.
• A report of dirt bikes and ATVs running rampant in the area of County Road and West Street was investigated at 6:47 p.m. Police could not locate the suspect vehicles or their operators.
• A security issue was investigated at 125 Goose Lane at 7:24 p.m. An unwanted white female refused to leave after being asked to leave since no visitors were allowed because of the current COVID-19 pandemic physical distancing requirements.
Sunday, April 12
No arrests were made.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Woodland Road at 8:47 a.m.
• A complaint about a neighbor using a chainsaw all morning was investigated on the 100 block of Half Mile Road at 11:35 a.m. The complainant was advised of the town ordinance and that the neighbor could run the chainsaw as long as he was in compliance with the local law. The man running the chainsaw was also advised of the town noise ordinance and he advised that he would be done with the chainsaw within the next two hours.
• A complaint about a pony in the roadway was investigated at 100 Wilburs Lane at 11:37 a.m. The owner was located and the pony was returned home to 229 Wilburs Lane.
• A report of goats in the road was investigated on the 800 block of Maple Hill Road at 12:02 p.m. The goats were gone when police arrived.
Monday, April 13
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated on Shaker Court at 11:26 a.m. The complainant’s ex-spouse opened a credit card with the complainant’s personal information.
Tuesday, April 14

• Forgery via the cashing of a fraudulent check was investigated at Big Y, 830 Boston Post Road, at 11:30 a.m.
• A complaint about fraud/flimflam on a PayPal account was investigated at 239 Nut Plains Road at 3:58 p.m.
• A motor vehicle crash on private property was investigated at 830 Boston Post Road at 5:17 p.m.

• Harassment via phone was investigated on Granite Road at 5:38 p.m.
• Neighbor trouble about ongoing removal of property markers was investigated at 93 Christopher Lane at 6:14 p.m.

• A landlord/tenant dispute was investigated on Whitfield Street at 12:20 p.m. The complainant was a renter who felt that it was unsafe for the landlord to show a residence to future tenants during the time of COVID-19 distancing.
• A complaint about attempted bank fraud was investigated at 55 Church Street at 3:41 p.m.
• A complaint about three all-terrain vehicles racing on the walking trails of Guilford Land Conservation Trust property at Bluff Head was investigated on Durham Road at Great Hill Road at 3:56 p.m. Police checked the area with negative results.
• A report of damage done to a stone wall by a vehicle whose driver evaded (fled) the scene was investigated at 71 Horseshoe Road at 5:47 p.m.

• A 25 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 4 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, credit card theft, charging less than $500 on a revoked credit card, two counts of larceny in the fourth degree, and two counts of forgery in the third degree.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 1 Bearhouse Hill Road at 9:34 a.m. Blocks near the wood bridge were spray painted.

• A motor vehicle crash in the Walmart parking lot was investigated at 10:39 a.m.
• A complaint about all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles on a private driveway that were then driven toward Regional Water Authority property off Great Hill Road was reported at 1:02 p.m. The vehicles were recorded on video.
