Police Incident Report for March 23 to April 21


The East Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Monday, March 23

• A 36 year-old man of Birch Lane was arrested at 2:22 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, March 24

• A 34 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 2:40 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

Wednesday, March 25

No arrests were made.

Thursday, March 26

• A 42 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9:44 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree.

Friday, March 27

• A 41 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 2 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a pistol/revolver and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 33 year-old man, a 34 year-old man, and a 28 year-old woman, all of them Waterbury residents, were arrested at 11:42 a.m. Each party was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident.

• A 21 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 4:25 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 22 year-old Hamden woman was arrested at 4:38 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Saturday, March 28

• A 48 year-old man of Pond Street was arrested at 1:04 a.m. and charged with possession of burglar tools and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 48 year-old man of Hemingway Avenue was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.

• A 46 year-old woman of Henry Street was arrested at 3:50 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 34 year-old Branford man was arrested at 8:50 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.

Sunday, March 29

No arrests were made.

Monday, March 30

• A 39 year-old man of Gerrish Avenue was arrested at 1:39 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, March 31

• A 57 year-old man of Charter Oak Avenue was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree.

Wednesday, April 1

No arrests were made.

Thursday, April 2

• A 48 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3:39 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, possession of a controlled substance or greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 34 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 7:41 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Friday, April 3 to Saturday, April 4

No arrests were made.

Sunday, April 5

• A 42 year-old New Haven man was arrested at noon on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was processed on a $2,500 bond.

• A 47 year-old woman of Mill Street was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

Monday, April 6

• A 29 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 4:53 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

Tuesday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 8

No arrests were made.

Thursday, April 9

• A 41 year-old man of Park Street was arrested at 11:40 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Friday, April 10

• A 19 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 7:23 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.

Saturday, April 11

• A 41 year-old woman of Wood Terrace was arrested at 10:59 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 48 year-old man of an unrecorded address was arrested at 10:59 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and threatening in the second degree.

• A 22 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 6:15 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

Sunday, April 12 to Monday, April 13

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, April 14

• A 23 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 11:08 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the first degree; violation of a protective order; operating a motor vehicle without insurance; operating an unregistered motor vehicle; falsifying a marker plate, driver’s license, or registration; improper use of marker plate; and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

Wednesday, April 15

• A 32 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 11:34 a.m. and charged with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, disorderly conduct, and operating a motor vehicle without under license or registration suspension. He was operating a white Honda when he lost control of the vehicle on Hemingway Avenue at Main Street after being pursued by police. He had assaulted a woman at her place of business as a result of a domestic dispute and fled the scene. The vehicle struck Bank of America, which was occupied at the time; no one inside the bank was injured. He was treated at the scene and then transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. The East Haven building inspector and Fire Department evaluated the structure for safety.

Thursday, April 16

Friday, April 17

• A 34 year-old man of Highland Avenue was arrested at 5:31 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop on Foxon Road at Foxon Boulevard. He was processed on a $2,500 bond.

Saturday, April 18

• A 32 year-old man of Laurel Street was arrested at 3:51 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• Officers administered Narcan and performed CPR on a man at 1:49 p.m. The incident occurred at Wendy’s, located at 65 Frontage Road, where a man suffered an opioid overdose in his vehicle. While CPR was performed on the man by East Haven fire personnel an officer administered several doses of department issued Narcan in order to revive the man. He was then transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. A loaded

firearm was located within in the vehicle and seized. Several bags of heroin were also found inside the vehicle.

Sunday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 21
