Police Incident Report for March 11 to 22


The East Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, March 11

• A 57 year-old man of Old Foxon Road was arrested at 1:30 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

• A 54 year-old man of Carmen Street was arrested at 8:40 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Dodge Avenue at Carlson Place.

• A 26 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 6:54 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree and failure to appear in the second degree following an investigation on West Frontage Road. He was processed on a combined $60,000 surety bond.

Thursday, March 12

• A 25 year-old Derby woman was arrested at 1:57 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, credit card theft, receipt of goods or services from illegal use of a credit card, and criminal impersonation. She was processed on a $5,000 bond.

• A 21 year-old man of Cedar Street was arrested at 7:03 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and disorderly conduct. He was processed on a combined $2,000 bond.

Friday, March 13 to Saturday, March 14

No arrests were made.

Sunday, March 15

• A 47 year-old man of East Elm Street was arrested at 2:15 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and disorderly conduct.

• A 34 year-old woman of Deerfield Street was arrested at 10:24 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and two counts of violation of a protective order. She was processed on a $5,000 bond.

Monday, March 16

• A 55 year-old woman of Silver Sands Road was arrested at 4:32 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, March 17

• A 29 year-old woman on Philip Street was arrested at 3:41 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, harassment in the second degree, and violation of conditions of release in the second degree. She was processed on a $5,000 bond amount.

• A 30 year-old man of Silver Sands Road was arrested at 11:50 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Wednesday, March 18

No arrests were made.

Thursday, March 19

No arrests were made.

• A 47 year-old Branford man was issued a citation at 9:53 a.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

Friday, March 20

No arrests were made.

• Police investigated a head on collision near 875 North High Street at approximately 7:54 p.m. The crash involved three vehicles. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on North High Street when it sideswiped a southbound vehicle, struck another southbound vehicle head-on, and then rolled over. The three occupants of the head-on vehicle were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The operator of the Chevy Silverado and the operator of the sideswiped vehicle reported no injuries. The operator of the Chevy Silverado was cited on the scene for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

Saturday, March 21

• A 24 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with violation of probation, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, having illegal weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, operating a motor vehicle with intent to harass or intimidate, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury), operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. He was processed and held on a combined $300,000 surety bond.

• A 56 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 4:24 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

Sunday, March 22

• A 20 year-old man of St. Andrew Avenue was arrested at 12:40 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

• A 35 year-old Seymour man was arrested at 4:10 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition, possession of a sawed off shotgun or silencer (muffler), illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a controlled substance or greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.
