Police Incident Report for Dec. 5 to 11


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, Dec. 5

No arrests were made.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 7:59 a.m. The location and all details of the incident were redacted by police.

• A sex offense/possession of child pornography case was investigated at 8:12 a.m.

• A burglary attempt was investigated at 274 Church Street a 9:36 a.m. Numerous unlocked vehicles were entered during the overnight hours.

• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 11:21 a.m. The location was redacted by police.

• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 541 Saw Hill Road at 3:42 p.m. A vehicle was entered but nothing was taken.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 2113 Little Meadow Road at 4:14 p.m.

• A complaint about fraudulent charges placed on a credit card was investigated at 376 Colonial Road at 6:29 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 6

No arrests were made.

Saturday, Dec. 7

• An 18 year-old man of Long Hill Road was arrested at 5 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A theft of items from an unlocked motor vehicle was investigated at 63 Davis Drive at 9:53 a.m. A resident at 20 Horseshoe Road provided possible evidence to police via a security camera recording.

• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 2:20 p.m. The location and all details were redacted by police.

• Harassment via text messages was investigated on Carter Drive at 8:12 p.m. The texts were sent to the complainant in violation of a protective order.

Sunday, Dec. 8

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about multiple gunshots was investigated on Wheeler Path at 10:05 a.m. The complainant later withdrew the complaint after learning that the gunshot sound had been created by a power tool that a neighbor was using.

Monday, Dec. 9

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 400 Moose Hill Road at 7:32 a.m. The complainant reported that three rings were missing.

• A complaint about fraud via a scam telephone call and remote access to a computer was investigated at 1250 Boston Post Road at 6:36 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

No arrests were made.

• A burglary was investigated at Gulf Four Corners Service Station, 1500 Route 80, at 10:39 p.m. The bottom panel of a garage door was damaged. The service bay and office motion detectors were triggered.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

• A 46 year-old East Haven woman was arrested at 12:30 p.m. and charged with violation of probation. She was processed on a $7,500 surety bond.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Sage Hollow Road at 10:19 a.m. A board member of the Sage Hollow Road Association reported damage at the beach area. Boats were taken off their racks and a table was broken.
