Police Incident Report for Sept. 9 to Oct. 29


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Monday, Sept. 9

• A 34 year-old Trumbull woman was arrested at 4:37 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and disorderly conduct following an investigation into a domestic dispute on Liberty Street. A caller reported that her sister was drunk, got in a verbal argument with her, took her keys to prevent her from following, and drove off. The drunk driver’s vehicle was found on Waterside Lane where the arrest was made.

• A drug overdose incident was investigated on Captains Walk at 4:12 p.m. Narcan was administered. The person who overdosed was with another male who drove off quickly, according to a witness.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

• A 20 year-old Danbury man was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. In the same incident a 20 year-old Danbury man was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, and operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held cell phone.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

• A 20 year-old Danbury woman was arrested at 11 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 31 year-old North Haven woman was arrested at 2:59 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 22 year-old woman of River Road was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 47 year-old man of River Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:22 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 34 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, and failure to display plates.

Thursday, Sept. 12

• A 31 year-old man of Jamaica Road was arrested at 2:57 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 50 year-old man of Heritage Circle was arrested at 9:20 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. He reportedly poured a glass of water on his teenage son while the boy was sleeping. The boy then pushed his father and in return the father hit his son in the face and neck. The boy’s shirt was ripped and he kicked his father in the shins.

• A 64 year-old woman of Shore Grove Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:19 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Friday, Sept. 13

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 69 Fairy Dell Road at 7:44 a.m. A drill and tech robot were believed stolen over the summer.

• A larceny was investigated at 15 Plymouth Court at 9:36 a.m. A complainant reported that her gold necklace was stolen from her residence. She suspected another woman who was the only person to have been in the house. After the investigating officer left, the complainant reported that she found the gold necklace in her purse.

• Threatening was investigated on East Main Street at 11:56 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 14

No arrests were made.

Sunday, Sept. 15

• A 42 year-old man of River Road was arrested at 5:35 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Monday, Sept. 16

No arrests were made.

• A burglary was investigated at 37 Ben Merrill Road at 5:28 a.m. Two bicycles, a gym bag, and beer were taken from a garage. The complainant had a camera recording of two individuals on his property at 3:29 a.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

• A 22 year-old man of Cottage Road was arrested at 9 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, improper rear marker lamps, and improper number of headlamps.

• An 18 year-old man of Dorset Lane was arrested at 4:16 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Pine Place at 10:02 p.m. A caller reported that her daughter was yelling at her. The daughter was allegedly yelling because she was in pain and the pain was keeping her awake. She refused medical attention when it was offered to her. The mother wanted the daughter to move out.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

No arrests were made.

• A 20 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:24 p.m. for violation of motor vehicle license classification (prior convictions for this offense) and having improper rear marker lamps.

Thursday, Sept. 19

• A 60 year-old Westbrook woman was arrested at 5:03 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A larceny involving a complaint about identity theft was investigated at 10 Tamarack Drive at 12:51 p.m.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 1:54 p.m. A theft from two days prior was reported. Video recordings were reviewed to learn exactly what items were taken.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 266 East Main Street at 4:51 p.m. A highly intoxicated woman stole produce and bakery items.

• Harassment via text messages was investigated on Martin Drive at 7:44 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 20

• A 43 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree.

• A 21 year-old Cromwell man was arrested at 6:15 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis following an investigation at 20 Killingworth Turnpike.

Saturday, Sept. 21

• A 25 year-old woman of Killingworth Turnpike was arrested at 4:02 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A juvenile who made a possible threat against The Morgan School was investigated at 6:53 p.m. The alleged threat was made on Instagram.

Sunday, Sept. 22

No arrests were made.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 2:01 p.m. Eleven polo shirts worth $1029.83 were stolen from Tommy Hilfiger. Two males used a booster bag to conceal the shirts. A store employee chased the men into the parking lot. The men dropped the bag containing the items and fled in an unknown vehicle.

• A domestic dispute was investigated below the 100 block of West Main Street at 3:49 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 23

No arrests were made.

• A 59 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to display lights.

• A theft from a vehicle was investigated at 215 East Main Street at 5:36 p.m. A man reported that he left $4,800 in cash in a folded map on the dashboard of his white van while it was parked at Stop & Shop. He left the vehicle unlocked and the windows down. When he returned to the vehicle the money was gone. Police were to follow-up with store security to review any possible surveillance video recordings of the incident.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

• A 61 year-old Hartford woman was arrested at 9:01 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper use of marker plates.

• A larceny was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 10:18 a.m. A woman reported that items were taken from her home while she was ill.

• A larceny was investigated at 215 East Main Street at 5:11 p.m. A 77 year-old woman of Delwood Avenue reported that while shopping at Stop & Shop someone took her purse out of her shopping cart, or she left it in her shopping cart. While store security prepared to review security video footage, the woman called back to report that she found her purse on her tractor in the garage.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

• A 24 year-old Burlington man was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A 22 year-old Torrington man was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

Thursday, Sept. 26

No arrests were made.

• Threatening was investigated at 27 West Main Street at 7:49 a.m. A fired employee made threats against current employees, saying he was going to come down there and beat them all up and hurt them. The man drives a blue Mercedes and lives in Middletown. It was unknown if he owns weapons.

• A complaint about a juvenile male masturbating on the front porch of an unoccupied trailer on Glenwood Road was investigated at 11:20 a.m. The incident occurred the evening before at 6 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 27 to Saturday, Sept. 28

Sunday, Sept. 29

• A 57 year-old woman of Killingworth Turnpike was arrested at 6:15 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Monday, Sept. 30

• A 48 year-old man of East Main Street was arrested at 9:10 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on High Street at Central Avenue.

• A 21 year-old Westbrook woman was arrested at 10:15 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis following a motor vehicle stop on Old Post Road at Brush Hill Road.

• A 53 year-old Killingly man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:26 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper use of marker plate.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

• A 22 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 10 p.m. and charged with identity theft in the third degree, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, illegal use of a scanning device, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and 30 counts of forgery in the first degree following an investigation at 170 Glenwood Road.

• A 24 year-old West Haven woman was arrested at 10 p.m. and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying an illegal weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal use of a scanning device, identity theft in the third degree, interfering with an officer, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, and 30 counts of forgery in the first degree following in investigation of Oakwood Lane at Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 37 year-old Oakdale man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:06 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (repeat offender for this charge), operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and violation of having readable plates.

Wednesday, Oct. 2

• A 27 year-old Norwich man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:44 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Thursday, Oct. 3

No arrests were made.

• A 30 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:25 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and having an improper marker plate following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street at Waterside Lane.

• A larceny was investigated at 5 Hide-A-Way at 11:11 p.m. The complainant’s identity was used to open on-line accounts.

Friday, Oct. 4

Saturday, Oct. 5

• A 22 year-old Branford man was arrested at 8:46 p.m. and charged with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A larceny was investigated at 144 East Main Street at 8:04 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 6

• A 31 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 4:42 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 40 year-old East Haven man was issue a misdemeanor summons at 11:30 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and unsafe backing following a motor vehicle stop in front of 170 East Main Street.

• A 38 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:38 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and having tinted glass without DMV approval.

• A larceny was investigated at 111 River Road at 10:14 a.m. A window and window shades were broken by a person who grabbed prescription narcotics that were left on a table near the window.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 6 Silver Birch Lane at 8:45 p.m. The keys were in the vehicle. The complainant called police back to say that a friend had borrowed the vehicle (a 2005 tan Ford F150 pick-up truck) and had returned it. The case was cleared.

• Harassment was investigated on Davis Farm Road at 10:24 p.m. An ex-wife left a harassing voicemail.

Monday, Oct. 7

No arrests were made.

• A burglary was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 10:41 a.m. A door was pried open.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Knollwood Drive at 5:58 p.m. A caller overhead a couple yelling and the man saying “I’m going to kill you.” When police spoke with the couple, both stated that no one said anything about killing anyone. They stated they were arguing over a contractor who was doing work at their house.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

• A 39 year-old Waterford man was arrested at 6:45 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A 28 year-old man of Evergreen Park was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:56 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop in front of 266 East Main Street.

• A 22 year-old Haddam man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper use of marker plate following a motor vehicle stop in front of 229 Killingworth Turnpike.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

• A 25 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 6:09 p.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 42 year-old man of Oak Ridge Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:05 a.m. for operating an motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

• A 49 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:42 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• An animal bite was reported on Harbor Parkway at 2:38 p.m. A mail carrier as bitten by a dog. He finished the delivery route before driving himself to the clinic later on.

Saturday, Oct. 12

• A 69 year-old man of Alden Drive was arrested at 10:15 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury), and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

• A 40 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:38 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and violation of having readable plates.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 85 West Main Street at 8:24 a.m. A complainant reported that it looked like a rock was thrown through a window of the store.

• An overdose incident was reported at 280 East Main Street at 8:04 p.m. A caller reported walking in and finding a male with a possible overdose. Needles were on the counter. The male was unresponsive, but still breathing. Two doses of Narcan were administered and oxygen was applied by police and EMS personnel.

Sunday, Oct. 13

• A 60 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 3:21 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 30 year-old Hartford was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fourth degree.

Monday, Oct. 14

• A 31 year-old Branford man was arrested at 9:10 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

• A 32 year-old Norwalk man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:13 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

• A 30 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 2:34 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was also issued a misdemeanor summons for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without a cell phone. Occupation: machinist.

• A burglary was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 8:29 a.m. A caller reported the theft of approximately $200 from her residence.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

• A 64 year-old woman of Lafayette Green Road was arrested at 1:40 p.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit a class-D felony, possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 65 year-old man of Lafayette Green Road was arrested at 1:45 p.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit a class-B felony, possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 62 year-old man of College Street was arrested at 7:55 p.m. and charged with evading responsibility in the operation of the motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury).

• A larceny was investigated at Shoprite, 266 East Main Street, at 10:43 a.m. An employee was suspected of and confessed to making counterfeit coupons and cashing out used bottle return vouchers repeatedly, resulting in losses exceeding $10,000. The employee was terminated on Oct. 15.

• A larceny was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 12:19 p.m. A woman reported that she believed her Macbook Pro laptop was stolen by her 28 year-old grandson.

• A 27 year-old man of Long Hill Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:54 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, traveling unreasonably fast, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis following motor vehicle stop on Glenwood Road. Occupation: mechanic.

• A juvenile issued was investigated at 9:06 a.m. A girl was being harassed by a boy during after school hours. The boy was spoken to and told that he could not speak to the girl at any time. He agreed to leave her alone.

• Threatening was investigated on Blake Avenue at 11:07 a.m. A man went in search of his kayak, which had blown away in a storm. He accessed private property to see if an orange colored kayak he spotted was his. When he realized the kayak was not his he went back to his vehicle on Blake Avenue, a private road. He was then confronted by a man who said threatening things about his trespassing of a private road shared by several homes.

• A complaint about juveniles setting off fireworks by the Joel School Playground on Glenwood Road was investigated at 3:38 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 19

No arrests were made.

• A 30 year-old Bridgeport man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:19 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of marker plate, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A theft via shoplifting was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 8:31 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Neck Road at 11:11 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Wildwood Park Road at 2:09 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Founders Village at 10:40 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 100 block of East Main Street at 4:06 a.m. A man received harassing text messages from his ex-wife, in violation of a court order. The woman was under legal order to not contact her ex-husband unless involving issues about their daughter.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 100 block of East Main Street at 7:50 p.m.

• A 52 year-old West Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:26 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to renew registration, and having an improper number of headlamps following a motor vehicle stop at 20 Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 58 year-old Cheshire man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:22 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and improper signal for a turn following a motor vehicle incident investigation of North High Street at High Street.

• A 55 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:25 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate or license, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

Saturday, Oct. 26

• A 25 year-old man of Nod Road was arrested at 11:47 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 48 year-old man of Sunnybrook Lane was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:06 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 25 year-old Westbrook man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:58 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to have rear marker lamps.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

• A 38 year-old Madison man was arrested at 5:49 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor.

• A 33 year-old man of Pepperbush Drive was arrested at 7:30 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and unlawful restraint in the second degree.

Thursday, Sept. 12

• A 40 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 9:38 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree. The alleged victim was a 55 year-old local man.

Friday, Sept. 13

• A 57 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 8:12 p.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree and two counts of violation of a protective order. He was processed and released after posting a $20,000 surety bond.

• A 57 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 12:49 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order and criminal violation of a protective order. He was processed on a $50,000 surety bond.

• A one-vehicle crash was investigated on Route 145 at 7:16 p.m. A 40 year-old Killingworth man was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Route 145 one-half mile past Malabar Drive when he collided with a deer and traveled off the west side of the roadway. He was transported by Westbrook EMS to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook and was later transported by Lifestar to Yale New Haven Hospital treatment of serious injuries. Monday, Sept. 16

• A 65 year-old East Haddam man was arrested at 6:28 p.m. and charged with violation of state building code requirement to provide guarantees to customers.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

Wednesday, Sept. 18

• A 44 year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 9:47 a.m. and charged with failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant, operating a motor vehicle while under license of registration suspension, and failure to display rear marker plates.

Thursday, Sept. 19

• A 30 year-old Bristol woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 3:54 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart following a motor vehicle crash.

Friday, Sept. 20

• A 48 year-old Madison man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening in the second degree.

• A 49 year-old Wallingford man was arrested at 9:28 p.m. and charged with illegal sale of fireworks without a permit and risk of injury to a minor.

Saturday, Sept. 21

• An 82 year-old woman of Orchard Path Road was issued a citation at 11:50 a.m. for failure to maintain the reasonable distance apart. She was operating a 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 eastbound on Boston Post Road when she struck the rear of a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek operated by an 80 year-old woman of Duck Island Landing.

• A 29 year-old man of Holyoke, Massachusetts was issued a citation at 2:19 p.m. for making an improper left turn. He was operating a 2015 Toyota Scion southbound on Boston Post Road when he attempted to make a left turn into the entrance of Pilots Point Marina, North yard (347 Boston Post Road) and struck a 2013 Nissan Altima operated by a 52 year-old Groton woman.

• A 45 year-old Deep River man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:09 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released after posting a $5,000 surety bond.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

• A 45 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 7:09 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear following a motor vehicle stop for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Thursday, Sept. 26

• A 58 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 12:05 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and threatening in the second degree. He was processed on a $2,000 surety bond.

Friday, Sept. 27

• A 39 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 11:38 a.m. and charged with larceny in the first degree.

He was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu out of the Westbrook High School parking lot onto Mcveagh Road when he struck the driver’s side fender of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala operated by a 17 year-old boy of Horseshoe Drive. No one was injured in the crash.

He was operating a blue Jeep Cherokee bearing Connecticut registration plate AV07824. Troopers identified the man via the license plate and located him to conduct the arrest.

• A 53 year-old Clinton woman was issued a citation at 12:33 p.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. She was operating a 2019 GMC Yukon Denali eastbound on Boston Post Road when she struck the rear of a 2007 Subaru operated by an 86 year-old man of Stuart, Florida who had his 84 year-old wife onboard. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. The operator and the passenger of the struck vehicle stated they felt neck pain, but both refused medical attention and medical transport. They said they would go to their own doctor.

• A 54 year-old Wallingford man was issued a citation at 4:26 p.m. for failure to drive right. He was operating a 2016 Volvo Xc60 T5 Premier southbound on Boston Post Road one-tenth of a mile south of Salt Island Road when he crossed onto a sidewalk and struck a light pole. Airbags were deployed and the operator, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to the Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook for evaluation and treatment.

• A 27 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 2:49 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest. He was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. The accused was observed driving in a parking lot, two hours after the business had closed. The investigating trooper conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Boston Post Road at Route 153 to investigated why the driver was in the parking lot at that late hour. He driver gave off a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. He refused to exit the vehicle and braced himself inside. He also refused a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

• A 45 year-old Durham woman was arrested at 11:18 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree. The accused got into a heated argument in which she pushed and bit a 51 year-old victim on the finger.

He was operating a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta SE westbound of Boston Post Road when he struck the rear of a 2010 Honda Civic LX operated by a 22 year-old Gales Ferry woman who had stopped suddenly for a vehicle in front of her that made a sudden left turn onto Seaside Avenue. The operator of the struck vehicle complained of head and neck discomfort but refused medical treatment at the scene. Both vehicles were towed.

He was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and issued a Nov. 4 court date at Middletown Superior Court.

Saturday, Oct. 26

• A 29 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at unspecified hour and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. He was processed and released on a $500 non-surety bond and issued a Nov. 4 court date at Middletown Superior Court.

• A 44 year-old man of Foster, Rhode Island was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:45 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to signal a turn.

• A 37 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:37 p.m. for misuse of marker plate following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Donnelly Road.

• A 23 year-old woman of Baum Avenue was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:35 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Harvey Drive.

Monday, Oct. 28

• A 63 year-old Vernon man was arrested at 9:16 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 45 year-old man of Margo Lane was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:47 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Baum Avenue.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

• A 60 year-old Trumbull man was arrested at 7:31 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop in front of 280 Boston Post Road.

• A 62 year-old man of Kelseytown Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:08 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper use of marker plate following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Denmore Lane.
