• Vandalism was investigated at 8 Scotland Avenue at 1:42 p.m.

• A 33 year-old man of 5th Avenue was arrested at 10:22 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Durham Road near Randi Drive.

• A 35 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:09 a.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use or marker plate, failure to carry an driver’s license, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (second time cited for this motor vehicle violation).

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated in font of 90 Wall Street at 1:06 p.m.

• A burglary attempt was investigated at 1477 Durham Road at 4:34 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated at 485 Boston Post Road at 5:14 p.m. Forcible entry was made into the residence.

• A 53 year-old Wallingford man was issued a citation at 12:58 p.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart following a three vehicle crash on Route 79 at Route 148. One vehicle was stopped in the roadway waiting for traffic to clear to make a left turn. Another vehicle was stopped behind that vehicle. The cited driver failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the middle vehicle, which was then pushed into driver’s side of the lead vehicle. The driver and passenger of the middle vehicle were transported to Yale New Haven Shoreline Medical Clinic in Guilford for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Monday, Sept. 23 to Wednesday, Sept. 25

Thursday, Sept. 26

• A 23 year-old Higganum man was arrested at 7:16 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive right. He was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS southbound on Route 81 when he failed to stay right, crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, and struck a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 head-on, which was operated by a 28 year-old Windsor woman. Both the operator of the Nissan and her 17 year-old male passenger were transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. The arrested operator stated that he was not injured. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage.

Friday, Sept. 27

No arrests were made.

• A 30 year-old Lyme woman was issued a citation at 8:59 a.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. She was operating a 2015 Audi Q5 Premium Plus northbound on Route 81 when she struck the rear of a 2015 Honda CR-V operated by a 50 year-old woman of Ledge Road who had slowed to make a left turn. The Audi had to be towed. No one was injured in the crash.

• A 17 year-old Meriden boy was issued a citation at 4:43 p.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection. He was operating a 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport westbound on Roast Meat Hill Road when he collided with a 2003 Buick Century operated by a 33 year-old Quaker Hill man. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling damage. No one was injured in the crash.

Saturday, Sept. 28 to Friday, Oct. 4

• A 49 year-old man of Robin Lane was issued a verbal warning at 12:48 p.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. He was operating a 1983 GMC K3500 northbound on Route 81 when he struck the rear of a 2010 Toyota Camry operated by a 78 year-old Guilford woman who had a 78 year-old female passenger onboard of Branford. The passenger reported minor injuries as a result of the crash, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Sunday, Oct. 6

No arrests were made.

• A 64 year-old Cheshire woman was issued a verbal warning at 12:43 p.m. for failure to obey a stop sign. She was operating a 2011 Subaru Forester northbound of Roast Meat Hill Road, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Route 80, proceeded through the intersection when it was not safe, and struck a 2019 Ford Transit vehicle. Both the operator and her 23 year-old female passenger of Stratford were injured in the crash and transported to Middlesex Hospital.

• A 20 year-old North Haven woman was issued a citation at 5:51 p.m. for failure to obey a traffic control signal. She was operating a 2019 Volvo Xc60 TS westbound on Route 148 just prior to Route 81, went through the red light, and collided with a 2018 GMC Yukon operated by a 36 year-old Higganum man. No one was injured in the crash.

Monday, Oct. 7

No arrests were made.

• A 54 year-old Madison man was issued a citation at 8:09 a.m. for failure to grant right of way. He was operating a 2016 Toyota southbound on Parker Hill Road when he stopped at the stop sign at the Route 148 intersection, then pulled out in front of a 2012 Audi Q5 Premium Plus operated by a 47 year-old woman of Old Mine Road resulting in a collision. No one was injured in the crash and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Tuesday, Oct. 8 to Friday, Oct. 11

Saturday, Oct. 12

No arrests were made.

• A 55 year-old woman of Beckwith Road was issued a citation at 5:19 p.m. for distracted driving and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. She was traveling eastbound on Route 148 near #614 when she traveling from the roadway into shoulder, struck a culvert and a utility pole support. The operator, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Middlesex Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

• A 16 year-old Chester boy was issued a citation at 1:54 p.m. failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. He was operating a 1998 Dodge Dakota eastbound on Stevens Road near Route 81 when he drifted to the right, lost control of the vehicle, and struck a wire rope guardrail. The operator was not injured in the crash and declined medical attention at the scene of transport to a medical facility.

• A 19 year-old man of Home Stake Lane was issued a citation at 4:58 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. He was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado K5200hd northbound on Route 81 when he lost control of the vehicle on the rain-soaked roadway and struck a metal-beam guardrail located along the west shoulder of the roadway. The driver who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Monday, Oct. 21

No arrests were made.

• A 68 year-old woman of Staten Island, New York was issued a citation at 4:33 p.m. for failure to grant right of way while making a left turn. She was operating a 2009 Ford Escape on Horse Hill Road at the Interstate 95 exit 64 southbound off-ramp when she turned in front of a 2005 Honda Civic LX operated by a 56 year-old Deep Rive man. The road conditions were dry and the weather conditions were clear at the location and time of the crash.
