Police Incident Report for April 1 to 16


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Monday, April 1

• A 56 year-old South Windsor man was arrested at 4:30 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shop lifting incident at 20 Killingworth Turnpike.

Tuesday, April 2

No arrests were made.

• A 33 year-old man of Pepperbush Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:22 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and a marker plate violation.

Wednesday, April 3

• A 37 year-old woman of East Shore Drive was arrested at 5 p.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

Thursday, April 4

• A 46 year-old man of Whitewood Drive was arrested at 9:36 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 34 year-old man of North High Street was arrested at 7:45 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening in the second degree. He made threatening remarks to a woman before punching a hole in the wall and storming outside.

• A trespass complaint was investigated at 143 Glenwood Road at 3 p.m. Several juveniles were in the skate park. The were gone by the time police arrived.

Friday, April 5

• A 41 year-old Essex man was arrested at 11:01 a.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to display reflectorized plates.

• A 39 year-old East Lyme man was arrested at 11:01 a.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis.

Saturday, April 6

• A 44 year-old man of Tamarack Drive was arrested at 3:10 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, criminal possession of a firearm, and threatening in the second degree.

Sunday, April 7

• A 50 year-old Suffield woman was arrested at 9:55 p.m. and charged with larceny in the first degree and forgery in the second degree.

• A 31 year-old Plainville man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:01 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and having improper read marker lamps following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street.

Monday, April 8

• A 21 year-old man of Hurd Bridge Road at 10:30 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Westbrook

Monday, April 1

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, April 2

• A 40 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 1:24 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Wednesday, April 3

• A 42 year-old Uncasville man was arrested at 10:56 a.m. on a warrant charging him with violation of probation. He was processed on a $20,000 surety bond.

• A 36 year-old man of Far Rockaway, New York was arrested at 12:51 p.m. on a warrant held by Nassau County Police charging him with extradition for being a fugitive from justice. He was processed and held overnight on a $500,000 surety bond and arraigned the following morning.

Thursday, April 4

• A 58 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 7:27 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

Friday, April 5

No arrests were made.

Saturday, April 6

• A 31 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 2:07 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling too fast for conditions.

• A 21 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 4:57 p.m. and charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop in Westbrook.

Sunday, April 7

No arrests were made.

Monday, April 8

• A 50 year-old Southington woman was arrested at 10:57 a.m. and charged with making a false statement and falsely reporting an incident in the first degree.

• A 52 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:51 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs in a construction zone, possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple plane highway.

Old Saybrook

Monday, April 1

• A 32 year-old New Britain woman was arrested at 8:47 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree on a warrant held by the Old Saybrook Police Department. In the same incident, a 33 year-old woman was Queens, New York, was arrests and charged with larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

Tuesday, April 2

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, April 3

• A 28 year-old Preston man was arrested at 11:37 a.m. and charged with strangulation in the second degree, assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and unlawful restraint under the Domestic Violence Act on a warrant held by the Old Saybrook Police Department. He was processed and held on a $100,000 surety bond.

• A 68 year-old Essex woman was arrested at 4:02 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree on warrant held by the Old Saybrook Police Department. She was processed and released after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

Thursday, April 4

• A 58 year-old Bristol man was arrested at 1:26 p.m. and charged with forgery in the third degree and larceny in the fifth degree on a warrant held by the Old Saybrook Police Department.

• A 49 year-old man of Coulter Street was issued a citation at 10:24 p.m. for making an improper turn and possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road.

Friday, April 5

No arrests were made.

Saturday, April 6

• A 30 year-old man of Bronx, New York was arrested at 6:52 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, two counts of forgery in the second degree, identity theft, criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, and two counts of illegal use of a credit card.

• A 16 year-old was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:26 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a permit in possession. The offender was scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court.

• A 34 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 5:01 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.

Sunday, April 7

• A 24 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 11:18 a.m. and charged with using a motor vehicle without permission.

• A 21 year-old man of Tallwoods Circle was arrested at 5:35 p.m. and charged with breach of peace and intent to harass under the Domestic Violence Act. In the same incident a 52 year-old man, a 21 year-old man, and a 18 year-old man of the same residence were arrested at 6 p.m. Each of these three men was charged with interfering with an officer. The 21 year-old was also charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A 33 year-old East Haddam man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:20 a.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Main Street.

• A 46 year-old Scotland woman was issued a citation at 9:07 p.m. for simple trespass on Merritt Lane.

Monday, April 8

• A 47 year-old woman of Brockton, Massachusetts was arrested at 1:50 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traveling unreasonably fast, and possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A 25 year-old man of Mill Rock Road East was arrested at 4:51 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. He was processed and released after posting a $50,000 surety bond. In the same incident a 38 year-old woman of the same residence was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer, possession of a controlled substance, and breach of peace in the second degree. Additionally, a 22 year-old woman of the same residence was arrested and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, interfering with an officer, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
