Police Incident Report for April 4 to 17


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, April 4

No arrests were made.

• A 45 year-old Wallingford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:39 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension for a DUI conviction.

• A vehicle was repossessed at 34 Cedar Hill Road at 12:56 a.m.

Friday, April 5

No arrests were made.

• A dumping violation was investigated on Old Miller Lane at 1:10 p.m. The Department of Public Works reported that stumps and rocks were dumped on a cul-de-sac.

Saturday, April 6

• A 49 year-old man of Nut Plains Road was arrested at 4:45 p.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A complaint about fraud via identity theft was investigated at 78 Jefferson Drive at 12:54 p.m.

• Littering was investigated on Old Sachems Head Road at 1:09 p.m. A complainant showed police a bag that contained liquor nip bottles and Marlboro cigarette butts she collected during morning walks in the Sachems Head area. Nothing in the refuse had identifying formation about who was a fault. The complainant reported that the littering is an ongoing problem.

• Neighbor trouble involving ongoing noise issues was investigated at 2 Guilford Court at 5:56 p.m.

• Neighbor trouble over repairs to a driveway was investigated on Dohm Avenue at 7:26 p.m.

Sunday, April 7

• A 52 year-old woman of Nortontown Avenue was arrested at 10:30 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on Whitfield Street.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at Sachems Head Road at 1:33 p.m.

• Internet fraud was investigated at 5:27 p.m. Location information and all details of the incident were redacted by police.

Monday, April 8

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about Internet fraud was investigated at 12:51 p.m. Location information and all details of the incident were redacted by police.

Tuesday, April 9

No arrests were made.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated on Cornfield Lane at 12:07 p.m. A renter yelled at the complainant and spit in his face.

Wednesday, April 10

• A 41 year-old woman of Whitfield Street was arrested at 5:31 p.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 600 block of New England Road at 9:55 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated at 10:43 a.m. Location information and all details of the incident were redacted by police.

• A larceny was investigated at 1058 Boston Post Road 3:21 p.m.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 95 Wauwinet Trail at 11:31 a.m. Details of the incident were redacted by police.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 1057 Boston Post Road at 1:46 a.m. The word “Act” was spray painted on the wall between CVS and Pet Value.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 500 block of Tanner Marsh Road at 2:10 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated at 4400 block of Durham Road at 8:09 p.m.

Saturday, April 13

No arrests were made.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Andy Lane at 3:09 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 789 Maple Hill Road at 10:59 a.m. Details of the incident were redacted by police.

• Harassment was investigated on the 1300 block of West Street at 8:16 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 220 Chestnut Grove at 9:14 p.m. A mailbox was damaged.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 221 Flag Marsh Road at 9:53 p.m.

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash in which a driver evaded (fled) the scene was investigated at 4775 Durham Road at 7:07 a.m. A mailbox was struck during the overnight hours. The vehicle most likely suffered heavy damage.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 1057 Boston Post Road at 11:37 a.m. Details of the incident were redacted by police.
