Police Incident Report for Dec. 19 to Jan. 1


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Dec. 19

• A 66 year-old North Branford man was arrested at 8:30 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 48 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:57 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension

Thursday, Dec. 20

No arrests were made.

• A 38 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:38 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

• A 29 year-old North Branford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:53 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and speeding.

Friday, Dec. 21

• A 37 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9:15 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 55 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9:52 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to obey a traffic control signal, and having improper rear marker lamps.

Saturday, Dec. 22

No arrests were made.

• A 38 year-old North Branford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 3:11 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Sunday, Dec. 23

• A 26 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 1:30 a.m. and charged with two counts of violation of probation.

• A 24 year-old man of Quinnipiac Avenue was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:19 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

• A 31 year-old man of Butler Road was issued a citation at 11:09 a.m. for possessing a vicious/barking dog and permitting a dog to roam at large.

Monday, Dec. 24 to Tuesday, Dec. 25

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

• A 21 year-old New Haven was arrested at 5:51 p.m. and charged with two counts of larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 29 year-old Meriden woman was arrested at 12:30 p.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 32 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:38 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and misuse of plate.

• A 37 year-old Wallingford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 50 year-old man of Peters Lane was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:01 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 33 year-old woman of Maiden Lane was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:31 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 58 year-old Wallingford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:35 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Monday, Dec. 31

No arrests were made.

• A 31 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:13 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to signal a turn.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

No arrests were made.

From Dec. 19 to Jan. 1, North Haven police issued 13 citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, 4 citations for failure to obey a control signal, 4 citations for traveling unreasonably fast, 3 citations for misuse of plate, 3 citations for failure to obey a stop sign, 2 citations for failure to have rear marker lamps, 2 citations for failure to renew registration, and 2 citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to drive upon the right, failure to remain a reasonable distance apart, unsafe passing, failure to carry insurance card, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, failure to signal a turn, failure to register a commercial vehicle, failure to grant right of way at an intersection, improper license classification for vehicle driven, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and distracted driving.
