Police Incident Report for Nov. 14 to 27


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

• A 53 year-old Branford woman was arrested at 7:10 p.m. and charged with attempt to commit a crime, conspiracy to commit a crime, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

• A 37 year-old West Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 3 a.m. for disobeying the signal of an officer.

Thursday, Nov. 15

• A 27 year-old man of Cricket Court was arrested at 8:50 a.m. and charged with reckless driving, engaging an officer in pursuit, larceny in the fifth degree, robbery in the first degree, and threatening in the first degree.

• An 18 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 4 p.m. and charged with forgery in the third degree.

Friday, Nov. 16

• A 45 year-old North Haven man was arrested at 7:20 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and strangulation/suffocation in the third degree.

• A 38 year-old Ansonia woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:49 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle/fleeing the scene of an accident.

Saturday, Nov. 17

No arrests were made.

Sunday, Nov. 18

• A 21 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 1:40 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 58 year-old Cheshire man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:20 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and misuse of plate.

• A 41 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:07 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Monday, Nov. 19

• A 20 year-old man of St John Street was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and forgery in the third degree.

• A 35 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 12:37 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 29 year-old East Haven woman was issued a 10:59 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of plate, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

• A 35 year-old West Haven woman was arrested at 10:18 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, criminal impersonation, and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.

• A 55 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:37 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Thursday, Nov. 22

No arrests were made.

Friday, Nov. 23

• A 22 year-old Branford man was arrested at 12:37 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and assault in the third degree.

• A 32 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:40 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to renew registration, theft of plates, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

Saturday, Nov. 24

• A 30 year-old man and a 57 year-old man of the same Hartford Turnpike residence were arrested at 1 p.m. Each man was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

Sunday, Nov. 25

No arrests were made.

• A 30 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:43 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and misuse of plate.

• A 53 year-old West Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:35 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to registered a commercial vehicle, and misuse of plate.

Monday, Nov. 26

No arrests were made.

• A 50 year-old man of Middletown Avenue was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:35 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to register a commercial vehicle, and misuse of plate.

• A 25 year-old Wolcott woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:44 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and falsifying a marker plate, driver’s license, or vehicle registration.

• A 28 year-old woman of unrecorded address was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:46 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 22 year-old Wallingford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:34 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without under license or registration suspension.

• A 57 year-old East Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:34 p.m. for failure to registered a commercial vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, misuse of plate, and improper license classification for vehicle driven.

Tuesday, Nov. 27

No arrests were made.

• A 37 year-old Wallingford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:27 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper license classification for vehicle driven.

• A 47 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:02 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper license classification for vehicle driven.

From Nov. 14 to 27, North Haven police issued 15 citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, 12 citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, four citations for misuse of plate, four citations for failure to obey a stop sign, four citations for failure to obey state traffic commission road markings, three citations for failure to sear a seat belt in the front seat, and three citations for failure to renew registration. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to grant right of way, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, using a hand-held cell phone while driving, unsafe passing, failure to obey a control signal, failure to register a commercial vehicle, failure to obey the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart.
