Police Incident Report for Nov. 1 to 7


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, Nov. 1

No arrests were made.

• A noise complaint about garbage pickup was reported on Half Mile Road at 5:40 a.m. Police spoke with the garbage company employee and he advised that he would devise a new route with his boss so as to avoid residential areas during the early morning hours.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 700 Old New England Road at 7:59 a.m. A mailbox was smashed during the overnight hours.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 40 Kenneth Circle at 11:31 a.m. The complainant gave her social security number to an unknown company and wanted the incident documented.

• A complaint about attempted fraud was investigated at 220 Whitehorn Drive at 5:40 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 2

No arrests were made.

• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 120 Highwoods Drive at 4:16 a.m.

Saturday, Nov. 3

No arrests were made.

• A report of graffiti was investigated on the 200 block of State Street at 1:40 a.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated in the parking lot of Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 10:07 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 4

• A 32 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9 a.m. on a warrant charging him with harassment in the second degree.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 51 Nut Plains Road at 1:25 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 34 Raymond Road at 12:20 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 1:25 p.m. Walmart chose not to pursue charges and the subject was released.

Monday, Nov. 5

No arrests were made.

• A welfare check was made at 9 Boston Post Road at 9:46 a.m. An anonymous complainant reported that a woman was selling books on the Town Green. She had been fired from Cilantro’s the prior Saturday. Police determined that she was taking donations and handing out books. She was not selling anything.

• Harassment by phone was investigated on Boston Terrace at 2:05 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 131 Hubbard Road at 1:16 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Whitfield Street at 2:04 p.m.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 21 Michael Drive at 6:14 p.m.

• A drug overdose was reported at an address that police redacted at 6:42 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 7

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 53 Broad Street at 9:07 a.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated below the 100 block of Sachems Head Road at 8:24 p.m.
