Thursday, Sept. 27
• A 45 year-old East Haven woman was arrested at 10:25 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
• Suspicious activity was investigated on the 500 block of Little Meadow Road at 2:16 a.m. A complainant reported seeing a light in the woods but did not wish to speak to an officer. Police checked the area and determined that light was shinning from the rear patio of 40 Still Meadow Drive and that everything appeared to be in order.
• Am anonymous woman reported that a very large dead bird was the roadway in front of 800 Boston Post Road at 7:40 a.m. Police notified the state Department of Transportation for removal of the carcass.
Friday, Sept. 28
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about Internet fraud was investigated at 96 Old Pend Road at 7:19 a.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 490 New England Road at 9:42 p.m. A caller reported that two high-school-aged males were walking in the roadway then ran into the woods as his/her vehicle approached them. The owner of said property responded to check the area.
Saturday, Sept. 29
No arrests were made.
• Suspicious activity was reported at 85 Lakeside Drive at 10:49 p.m. Two undescribed subjects were in the yard with flash lights. The caller reported that the house in question should be unoccupied. Police responded and found the house to be secure.
Sunday, Sept. 30
No arrests were made.
• A noise complaint about a loud party with music was investigated on Ruth Lane at 12:28 a.m. The complainant believed the music was coming from Brown Street. Police located the party and spoke with the homeowner about the 10 p.m. curfew on loud parties/music. The music was lowered, and the party moved inside.
• Harassment was investigated on the 200 block of Woodland Road at 10:14 a.m.
• A caller on Riverview Drive reported loud noises, possibly fireworks, in the area at 7:10 p.m. The complainant said the noise was an ongoing issue for the entire summer, and that the disturbance might be coming from the area of the East River. Police checked the area and could not find any fireworks.
Monday, Oct. 1
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 446 Whitfield Street at 11:10 a.m. A caller reported that his vehicle was vandalized earlier today while it was parked outside Big Y.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 2600 block of Durham Road at 1:42 p.m.
• A landlord/tenant dispute was investigated on Chasse Drive at 1:47 p.m.
• Suspicious activity was reported at 1306 Moose Hill Road at 3:13 p.m. A caller reported that he could see an individual on his property via his security cameras, and that no one should be there.
Tuesday, Oct. 2
No arrests were made.
• A breach of peace incident was investigated on West Lake Avenue at 4:01 p.m. Young males yelled obscenities while driving through a parking lot in a white vehicle. No other description of the vehicle was obtained. The suspect vehicle was gone when police arrived.
• A stray pitbull was reported on the deck of 5 old Barn Lane at 4:15 p.m. The caller stated that the dog appeared to be friendly. Police returned the pitbull to its owner.
• Disorderly conduct was investigated at 310 State Street, Guilford Housing Authority, at 7:35 p.m. The caller advised that a resident was yelling in the hallway. Immediate police response was requested.
• A roof fire was reported at 563 Podunk Road at 11:44 p.m. The fire was caused by a lighting strike. Four people evacuated the residence before fire officials arrived.
Wednesday, Oct. 3
No arrests were made.
• Suspicious activity was reported at 94 and 100 Horseshoe Road at 1:08 a.m. A caller reported that an older style pick-up truck that was loud (because of a bad muffler or diesel engine) stopped, and a group of people exited the vehicle and ran into the woods towards Cornfield Lane and possibly toward Boston Post Road. Police could not locate the suspect vehicle or people.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 8 Cornfield Lane at 3:08 p.m. A house was egged.
• Neighbor trouble was reported at Guilford Court housing facility at 3:22 p.m. A female complainant stated that her neighbor was harassing her. Police determined there was no issue. The neighbor left garbage bags outside to be picked up.
Thursday, Oct. 4
No arrests were made.
• The report of a bobcat on the 200 block of Church Street was investigated at 8:06 a.m. Police could not locate the animal.
• A male resident of Davis Drive reported a water main break, stating that water was flowing down the road at 10:56 a.m. Communications was advised. The fire department was dispatched. The issue was not a water main break, but a sump pump pumping water out of the basement of a nearby home due to the recent heavy rains.
• A possible structure file was reported at 120 Hoyt Lane at 11:26 a.m. When the fire department arrived, nothing was showing. There was no fire.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 480 Clapboard Hill Road at 4:36 p.m. Young males in a white vehicle traveling southbound on Clapboard Hill Road threw an unknown object at the complainant’s car, damaging the door.
Friday, Oct. 5
• A 24 year-old Madison woman was arrested at 2:15 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive right.
• A complaint about a loud party with music was investigated on Ironwood Road at 12:18 a.m. Police checked the area. All was quiet.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 648 North Madison Road at 5:47 p.m. The complainant went to check his mailbox and noticed it was gone. Police determined the damage was done by a motor vehicle.
• Harassment was investigated on the 1600 block of Boston Post Road at 6 p.m.
• An animal complaint was investigated on Stepstone Hill Road at 6:43 p.m. The caller reported that a dog regularly gets into the yard and kills the his/her chickens. The complainant thought the dog was coming from the area of Little Meadow Road. Police could not located the suspect dog. The complainant was advised to contact police when the dog returns.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 1600 block of Great Hill Road at 9:12 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 6
No arrests were made.
• Suspicious activity was reported at 136 Pine Grove Road at 7:45 a.m. A neighbor reported that noises were coming from a house that was unoccupied because of a fire. Police checked the house. All was in order. The homeowner was notified.
Sunday, Oct. 7
No arrests were made.
• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 11 Race Hill Road at 5:20 p.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 150 Nut Plains Road at 10:56 p.m. Someone operating a black Jeep Wrangler smashed the complainant’s mailbox.
Monday, Oct. 8
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 170 Jefferson Drive at 9:11 a.m. A mailbox was damaged during the overnight hours.
Tuesday, Oct. 9
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about the passenger of a red Subaru Outback rolling and smoking a marijuana cigarette was investigated at 10:53 a.m. Police checked the area and could not locate the suspect vehicle. The plate of the vehicle was registered to a resident of Guilford.
• A vehicle repossession was conduct by Skyline Recovery at 3390 Durham Road at 3:33 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 10
• A 32 year-old man of Highwoods Drive was arrested at 10:24 a.m. and charged with two counts of violation of probation.
• A noise complaint was investigated at 66 High Street at 1:35 a.m. The complainant reported loud banging on steel. Police learned the noise was from Amtrak working on the railroad.
• A larceny was investigated at 109 West Lake Avenue at 11:10 a.m.
• Suspicious activity was investigated on the 1600 block of Moose Hill Road at 8:50 p.m. A cell phone caller reported that a white van, with its rear door open, was being driven slowly through the area. The van passed the complainant’s house three times. The van was last seen headed towards Peddlers Road. Police checked the area but could not find the van.
• A couple who caused a verbal disturbance at the Yale Shoreline Clinic, 111 Goose Lane, were escorted off the property at 11:50 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 11
No arrests were made.
• A noise complaint was investigated on Guilford Court at 12:26 p.m. A neighbor had very loud volume on a radio or TV. The person complied with the request of police to turn down the volume.
• A larceny was investigated at 31 Park Street, Guilford Town Hall, at 11:05 a.m.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 2824 Boston Post Road at 3 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 100 block of Old Sachems Head Road at 11:23 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 12
• A 49 year-old North Branford man was arrested at 6:30 a.m. and charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree.
• A 20 year-old man of North Maupus Road was arrested at 8 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, assault in the first degree, and disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute.
• A 24 year-old man of Hattiesburg, Mississippi was arrested at 10 a.m. on a warrant charging him with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit criminal mischief in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the fourth degree, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit identity theft in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit forgery in the third degree.
• A theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 638 West Lake Avenue at 12:11 p.m. An unlocked vehicle was entered and items were taken.
Saturday, Oct. 13
No arrests were made.
• A larceny was investigated at 396 Saw Mill Road at 10:54 a.m. The complainant’s newspaper was stolen several mornings in a row.
• Harassment was investigated on the 1200 block of Boston Post Road at 7:25 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 14
No arrests were made.
• Harassment was investigated on Sunset Circle at 8:10 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 15

• Theft from a motor vehicle was investigated at 2440 Boston Post Road at 9:08 a.m. An unlocked vehicle was entered and items were taken.
