Wednesday, Aug. 8
No arrests were made.
Thursday, Aug. 9
• A 37 year-old Cheshire man was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree and violation of a protective order.
• A domestic dispute was investigated below the 100 block of Killingworth Turnpike at 12:29 p.m. The complainant’s ex-husband bruised their seven-year-old son’s arm by punching the boy while they were on Rogers Lake in Old Lyme.
• A larceny was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 8:23 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 10
No arrests were made.
• A 56 year-old Westbrook man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:10 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis. Occupation: roofer.
• A larceny was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 10:29 a.m. A professional group of thieves stole $4,000 worth of merchandise at the Clinton Outlet stores. One of the thieves involved was reportedly arrested the prior week for the same crime in a New Jersey store.
• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 6:45 p.m. A young female stole a bracelet valued at $36 that was missing an anti-theft sensor.
• Harassment was investigated on River Road at 8 p.m. The complainant reported receiving more than 30 prank phone calls, which caused concern. No one was on the end of the line when the calls were picked up.
Saturday, Aug. 11
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 43 Jefferson Circle at 8:54 a.m. Someone drove on the front lawn, leaving tire tracks.
• A larceny was investigated at 2 Groveway at 10:01 a.m. A metal swing set was stolen from the complainant’s yard during the overnight hours.
• A dispute was investigated on the 200 block of East Main Street at 10:41 a.m. An ambulance was requested for an injury sustained from a punch to the eye.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Old Post Road at 5:45 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 12
• A 60 year-old Plainville man was arrested at 6:15 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Harassment was investigated on the 100 block of East Main Street at 2:16 a.m. A woman reported continued harassing text messages from an ex-boyfriend.
• Police stopped a group of 13- to 14-year-old juveniles riding bicycles in the middle of the roadway on Central Avenue at High Street. Police learned that all five juveniles snuck out of their respective homes without their parents’ knowledge/permission.
• A larceny was investigated at 215 East Main Street at 1:52 p.m. An employee of Stop & Shop stole $800 worth of merchandise through a scam involving price changed of meat products and from use of a rewards card used numerous times for discounts.
• A burglary was investigated at 1 Shore Grove Road at 5:47 p.m. An unsecured garage was entered.
Monday, Aug. 13
• A 23 year-old Vernon man was arrested at 4:45 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis following a shoplifting incident investigation at 20 Killingworth Turnpike.
• Harassment was investigated on West Main Street at 8:57 a.m. A woman thought she was being followed after she made a purchase at Dunkin Donuts and then drove to the parking lot of Chip’s Pub III and a male driver followed her that entire distance. The male driver was an employee of Chip’s Pub III. It was coincidental that he also made a purchase from Dunkin Donuts and then proceed to Chip’s Pub behind the complainant.
• A burglary was investigated at 11 Founders Village at 8:36 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 14
• A 25 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:52 a.m. and charged with three counts of violation of probation.
• A larceny was investigated at 5 Liberty Street at 8:04 a.m. A car in the driveway was entered during the overnight hours.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 25 Jefferson Circle at 9:32 p.m. The rear window of a vehicle was smashed.
• A burglary was investigated a 301 East Main Street at 10:38 a.m. A business (The Picking Pot) was burglarized during the overnight hours.
• A larceny was investigated at 88 Grove Street at 12:07 p.m. Glasses and a case filled with CDs was stolen from a vehicle the prior evening.
• A larceny was investigated at 6 Alden Drive at 12:43 p.m. An urn filled with ashes was taken from the house sometime during the prior several months. The theft occurred in June, but the complainant was out of town until Aug. 14.
• A burglary was investigated at 31 Founders Village at 1:11 p.m. Items were taken from a vehicle.

Wednesday, Aug. 8 to Thursday, Aug. 9

Friday, Aug. 10
• A 34 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 3:52 p.m. and charged with cruelty to animal and conspiracy to commit cruelty to animals.
• A 28 year-old Niantic man was arrested at 8:08 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The accused struck a Connecticut State Police cruiser. He admitted to consuming three beers. He consented to and failed a standardized field sobriety test.
Saturday, Aug. 11
• A 62 year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 3:52 p.m. on a warrant charging her with conspiracy to commit cruelty to animals.
• An armed robbery was investigated at JoJo’s Food Mart on Salt Island Road at 12:53 a.m. A black male in his mid-20s to early 30s grabbed a bank envelope containing $400 in cash from a 67 year-old Ivoryton woman who had approached the checkout counter to purchase cigarettes. The robber ran out of the store and proceed north on Boston Post Road toward Café Routier. The robber was wearing a bluish purple hoodie with the hood pulled up and multi-colored shorts. A K9 was dispatched to the area to conduct a track, but the suspect could not be located. Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact Trooper Philip Chapell at 860-399-2100. All calls will be confidential.
Sunday, Aug. 12
• A 28 year-old Durham man was arrested at 8:31 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and threatening in the second degree. Police responded to an active disturbance between two adult males that progressed from a heated verbal argument to a physical altercation. The victims in the incident were a 56 year-old, a 21 year-old, and a 17 year-old. The accused was processed and held on a $10,000 surety bond he could not post.

• A 16 year-old was issued a citation at 10:02 p.m. for possession of an electronic nicotine delivery device by a minor following an investigation of Main Street.
Thursday, Aug. 9
• A 62 year-old Manchester man was arrested at 3:36 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
• A 56 year-old woman of Boston Post Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:31 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage) following a motor vehicle crash on Mill Rock Road East.
• A 56 year-old Colchester woman was issued a citation at 2:44 p.m. for creating a public disturbance on Boston Post Road.
• A 24 year-old man of Boston Post Road was issued a citation at 10:27 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia following an investigation of Boston Post Road.
Friday, Aug. 10
• A 69 year-old Berlin man was arrested at 7:11 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs while operating a boat, violation of a wake violations, and violation of Connecticut boating regulations on the Connecticut River at Saybrook Point.
Saturday, Aug. 11
• A 48 year-old Branford man was arrested at 2:56 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) following domestic dispute.
• A 23 year-old Westbrook woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:04 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to signal a turn following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Pond Road.
• A 65 year-old woman of Bristol, Rhode Island was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:01 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) following a motor vehicle crash on Bridge Street.
• A 19 year-old Niantic man was issued a citation at 12:47 a.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of cannabis following an investigation on Ferry Road.
Sunday, Aug. 12
• A 60 year-old West Hartford woman was arrested at 9:48 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road near Orchard Street.
• A 44 year-old man of North Main Street was arrested at 10:11 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and threatening in the second degree under the Domestic Violence Act.
• A 32 year-old Old Lyme man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:06 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, traveling unreasonably fast, and avoidance of an ignition disabling device following a motor vehicle stop on Essex Road at Ayers Road.
