Police Incident Report for Aug. 15 to 28


The East Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

• A 60 year-old woman and a 54 year-old man of the same Sperry Lane residence were arrested between 7 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 49 year-old Branford man was arrested at 10:36 a.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 33 year-old man of Francis Street Extension was arrested at 8:56 p.m. and charged with possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis and having improper rear marker lamps following a motor vehicle stop.

Thursday, Aug. 16

No arrests were made.

• A 37 year-old homeless man was arrested at 9:17 p.m. on a warrant charging him with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 33 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:04 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct.

Friday, Aug. 17

• A 31 year-old man of Thompson Avenue was arrested at 5:58 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 38 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 9:58 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on East Frontage Road.

Saturday, Aug. 18

• A 27 year-old man of Rose Street Extension was arrested at 12:10 a.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree.

• A 24 year-old New London woman was arrested at 2:30 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

Sunday, Aug. 19

• A 42 year-old man of Waldo Street was arrested at 3:46 a.m. and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct.

• A 40 year-old man of Thompson Street was arrested at 7:57 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call. He was processed on a $10,000 surety bond.

Monday, Aug. 20

• A 19 year-old Branford man was arrested at 11:48 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and violation of a protective order. He was processed on a $5,000 surety bond.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

• A 29 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 1:23 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, theft of marker plates, improper use of marker plate, and failure to display plates following a motor vehicle stop on West Frontage Road.

• A 34 year-old man of Cosey Beach Avenue was arrested at 11:49 p.m. and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, threatening in the second degree, and strangulation in the second degree. He was processed on a $50,000 surety bond.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

• A 57 year-old man of Miami Street was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with cruelty to animals.

• A 21 year-old West Haven woman was arrested at 12:33 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, assault in the third degree, assault in the third degree on a person age 60 or older or who is handicapped for pregnant, and two counts of criminal mischief in the second degree. She was processed on a $20,000 surety bond.

• A 46 year-old woman of Redwood Drive was arrested at 10:51 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

Thursday, Aug. 23

No arrests were made.

Friday, Aug. 24

• A 38 year-old man of unrecorded address was arrested at 6:38 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 42 year-old man of Warner Avenue was arrested at 7:29 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace in the second degree, threatening in the first degree, and two counts of possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.

• A 41 year-old man of Whalers Point was arrested at 10:38 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 53 year-old man of Stoddard Road was arrested at 11:42 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.

• A 41 year-old man of Bowling Green Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle.

Saturday, Aug. 25

• A 35 year-old woman of Dodge Avenue was arrested at 12:54 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree.

• A 25 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 11:58 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, a failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway.

Sunday, Aug. 26

• A 36 year-old man of a South End Road apartment was arrested at 5:27 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 51 year-old man of a Thompson Street was arrested at 10:06 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order, and threatening in the second degree.

Monday, Aug. 27

• A 40 year-old man of Foxon Boulevard was arrested at 12:50 a.m. on warrants charging him with three counts of failure to appear in the second degree, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment in the first degree. He was processed on a combined $97,500 surety bond.

• A 26 year-old Vernon man was arrested at 3:15 p.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree and violation of a protective order.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

No arrests were made.

• A 67 year-old woman of Fox Ridge Drive was arrested at 11:58 a.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the first degree, disorderly conduct, and violation of a protective order.
